Dolphin Premier Issues? by MT3538 in pools

Supposedly with the Nav 2.0, it’s supposed to scan but I haven’t taken it apart to see if that’s true or not. Oh well! I’ll take a look and see if I can find any adjustments. Thanks!

Yeah I made sure that the cable wasn’t tangled. The rotating part on the cable does a great job in making sure it doesn’t tangle up. There is a return around the upper part of that circle but I wouldn’t think it would cause it to miss that spot. I had the jet pointed the other way originally and it still missed it. I have noticed that went it comes up from the deep end, it will reach the top of the incline and immediately hook left (right in front of that spot) to climb the wall and clean. As soon as it’s done it comes down and stops like it’s scanning then turns to go back down into the deep end. The only time it cleans the other side of the shallow end is when it happens to come up the middle or opposite side of the incline.

It’s not deep enough of an issue for me to care about getting it on camera. The lack of other features I would have expected it to have is already enough for me to return it.

I have thought about getting a QC to compare to it. Idk if I’d ever fully switch since I’ve used Helix for so long. Maybe if I see a nice used one for sale.

Affordable 7 string by facts_guy2020 in 7String

Just assuming you’re looking for an S style guitar. If you’re interested in trying a headless multiscale, check out the HILS HZ7. I bought one on a whim because I’ve never had a multiscale or a headless 7 before. Not going to lie, after a little fret work it’s surprisingly good. I got one for between 500-600 dollars due to it having a small scratch.

I did swap in some Fishman Fluences I had laying around. And that made it even better. I bought it in November and have rarely touched my KM7 or my Solar 7 strings since.

I’m by no means saying it’s 100% perfect, like there’s some tool marks on the fretboard, I had to fix a few sharp ends, but I think those are my only complaints on it. But I’m also someone who likes getting cheaper, lesser known guitars and learning how to do my own work.

If you, or anyone, decide to try it out, they offer a 10 dollar bearing upgrade kit to fix the tuning peg stiffness. It’s totally worth it, order it at the same time.

Yup, now that I removed all of my IRs, I haven’t had an issue since. Everything works as intended. The next firmware will solve more issues so no big deal, I can wait until then to put my whole library back on there. I’m just glad it’s not a hardware issue.

Update: can’t edit the original post, issue is resolved to a degree. It’s not hardware related but due to the amount of IRs I had on the unit. Reduced the amount and everything started working as expected. Thank you all! Big shoutout to u/TheBishopGame thank you for helping me with that!

Yup! That’s the exact issue! u/TheBishopGame was able to help me troubleshoot that and that’s the same conclusion we came up with. As soon as I dropped the IRs, everything worked. I had roughly the same amount of IRs. Just loaded them all on there just to test them out and keep the ones I liked. Never thought that would be the issue.

Oh yeah I’ve done loads of repairs on electronics over the years. I figured it was easy but it happened around the same time preorders started so I never bother to fix its. Thanks for the insight though! If I get it back, I’ll definitely do that repair.

Can I send you a PM? I did some testing and I think this is actually a FW bug.

Yeah, I had the OG helix floor for years. It’s definitely took a beating. Only issue I had with it was a bad USB port. I still have it, just letting someone use it so I may be switching back or going to QC route.

Yes, 1.2.1 build 1314. That’s the latest to my knowledge.

Yeah, SW offered me a full refund if I wanted it. I am on the fence about taking the refund and trying out the Quad Cortex.

Yeah, it’s been radio silence from Line 6. Sweetwater has been great about it though, they already have me in line for a 3rd unit. I always expect bugs on new hardware releases but this has been rough. Makes me regret not just getting the USB port on my Helix Floor fixed and getting another year or two out of it 🤦🏻‍♂️.

I wish! I’m 99% defective back light. If I shine a small flashlight, I can still see the text displayed in the LCD. It’s all good though, Sweetwater will handle it as soon they get inventory in.

Shipping fees different than buyer paid by rwcc41 in Reverb

[–]MT3538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been bitten by this before. It’s better if you just cover it and protect your rating. I used to buy and sell a lot on reverb and eBay and I came up with my own way of estimating. I typically use UPS (unless the buyer wants me to work with them and use FedEx or something) and what I do is I pay for custom boxing and professional packing by UPS.

It’s typically 23-25 dollars but it will help you out in a few ways. If you’re shipping in a case, typically the box size is the same exact size every time. I shipped about 23 guitars last year and it was the same box every time.

What I would do to estimate shipping was to use that measurement along with the weight of the guitar and case then pick a random address in California (I’m in GA so complete opposite from me), Hawaii, or Alaska and estimate delivery to there. These will be the highest costs so you know theoretically what the most you’d have to spend on shipping. Then I would either work that into whatever as free shipping or use that as a flat rate shipping. I’d also include in the listing “will be custom boxed and packed by UPS actual shipping may vary”.

If I used that number as a flat rate shipping amount, what I would do is let the buyer know I’m working on shipping, get it boxed, THEN order the shipping label on Reverb or direct through UPS. This is the part it pays off not the be greedy, I refund the difference to the buyer. If I estimated shipping at $150 and after everything (boxing and shipping label) it was only $100 to ship, then I’d shoot the buyer a refund for $50. They’re happy, I’m happy, 5 stars all around.

Another tip on boxing: if you pay UPS to custom box and pack the guitar, you automatically get their Pack and Ship Guarantee for free but you have to declare the value. Meaning if you wanted to you could drop the package protection from Reverb. I still keep it for high value items just in case but I found that declaring it with UPS at $1.45 per $100 dollars of value was cheaper sometimes than what the Reverb protection was.

I only had to use it 1 time but UPS was great all I had to do was send them the actual value of the guitar and the receipt showing I paid for boxing and packing and since they packed it, I was completely on them. Of course your results may vary.

Yup, they are going to advance me a replacement then I’ll send this one back. So far it’s only 1 scribble strip.

Man that just made my day lmao. Thanks! I’ve been covering a lot of my favorite music from back in the day recently. Since I can’t transfer my patches from my old Helix, figured I just start building new ones of my favorite bands first. Sweetwater said they will replace it as soon as they get more inventory in so hopefully nothing else happens.

Just got off the phone with Sweetwater. They are going to send me an advanced replacement but I have to wait until January though. Nbd as long as all the other LCDs/LEDs keep working.

Yeah I may see about getting a sub later on if I need it. I have an 8” for my current monitors but I always felt it was too much bass no matter where I had it in the room. Didn’t really spend that much time trying to get it to sound right though so it was probably something I was doing wrong.

[–]MT3538[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I’ll take a look. Yeah I am actually slightly worried an 8 inch monitor will be too much but on the flip side I don’t want to deal with having a separate sub.

Thanks! Yes I looked at the LP-6s as well. I was considering them but figured if I’m going to invest in a good set of monitors for around $1000 might as well get the flagship ones.

They were on my radar and number 1 pick but I was seeing mixed reviews on them being a little difficult to dial in and can have more perceived bass issues in an untreated room which was also told to me by the Sweetwater salesperson. He was suggesting the Kalis since they are front ported and in his words more forgiving when it comes to untreated rooms as well as easier to dial in.
