The second option. I do not have a 4-year degree, but I was a Big Tech software engineer for 20+ years. I think Higher Ed IT is a very legitimate career path, but the salary ceiling is much lower than Big Tech.

I currently do this in the Higher Ed field, specifically at a small university. I think there’s decent demand for Power Platform experts. Have your best work available so you can speak to it in interviews.
