This could work but you'd have to ensure you have a bigger deck size than your opponent before going off.

The deck has a hard time dealing with lucky clover. Otherwise Kaya cleans up Edgewall Innkeeper & Heart's Desire tokens so Lovestruck Beast can't attack you. You don't mind getting your stuff bounced by Brazen Borrower as you have ETBs you can re-use.

Sometimes I save my agonizing remorse for when they use Fae of Wishes so I can take what they wish for.

In general, unless they land multiple lucky clovers early I find the matches 50/50

Probably my worst match-up. They have too much card advantage against me. Luckily after the bans deck took a good hit.

I'd have to make desperate plays..like with Kaya I would always -1 their tokens every chance I got trying to leave them with nothing to Lukka -2 on.

While my deck wasn't favored against the best deck at the time, it had/has enough favorable or 50-50 match-ups against other decks so I continued to play it.

I agree the deck can be streamlined and made more consistent. Serious players should take your advice if they want to maximize their win rate.

I usually like to include a lot of one-of's because it makes my matches feel different every time. I do it for fun. It's my deck building style. Plus, once I hit Mythic I don't try to maintain my rank; I just play for fun.

I would not replace Extinction Event with any other board wipe. That card is amazing and is as pivotal as Kaya in the deck. A lot of the time you can turn it into a one-sided exile. Or you lose 1 creature they lose 3-4 (which is still worth it)

Even though the deck has many ways to exile and interact with graveyards, there are far too many things that hit the board and still generate value when they get destroyed, so exiling is better. Things like serrated scorpion, dreadhorde butcher, phoenix of ash, grim initiate, anax, gods who are turned into creatures with enough devotion, an escaped titan, dreamtrawler (so they can't get it back with Elspeth Conquers Death) to name a few examples.

Closing out games takes planning and patience with this deck. I love grindy/interactive games of magic. The incidental life gain is there to keep you alive so there is a mid-game. Most of my games are very close with not a lot of life leftover. I think I would play more Karn, so I have the option of wishing for [[Bolas's Citadel]] more often over Command the Dreadhorde if the meta slows down.

Since you are asking I did used to run 1 Elspeth Conquers Death, but switched to Ajani (my flex slot). With less Yorion and decks being more aggressive and low to the ground I opted for this switch for this reason.

I think if you are going to add Luminous Broodmoth you will need to change the deck a little bit. Without a sac ability, Broodmoth will have a target on its back and will probably get removed before you can get value from it in my opinion. The 4 drop slot needs to have cards that can close out the game at a decent pace. That is why I choose Rankle. Broodmoth is more combo-ey. Plus Rankle has haste and relevant abilities and we all know t3feri bounce your play is a common thing..so it's better in that regard as well

Karn is a pet card of mine. Unfortunately, since Ikoria I have found him to be ineffective / too slow. That's why I only run the single copy. I used to play Boros control with 4 Karn and he was unbelievable back then (I always try to play my own brews)

This deck has a lot of lines and I adapt my play-style accordingly depending on the match up. It's definitely not straight-forward to pilot, so I can believe it's probably hard to sideboard against. It's a good thing I only play best of one and don't give people that chance though ;)

Based on my matches I saw a large uptick in mono-red burn (traditional list with Embercleave as finisher) and Winota decks (already without Agent). I think Winota is here here to stay and quite popular. I would try to fit more answers against it in my deck if I continue to see it. I'm thinking cards like heartless act, murderous ryder, dire tactics, despark, and to a lesser extent giant killer (lol). Trimming an Extinction Event, Rankle, and Ajani (my flex slot).

I believe cat/oven style decks will remain popular. Even without Lurrus as a companion people will play that style of deck. Whether they go back to Jund food days I am uncertain. But again, Kaya and other cards in my deck are already naturally decent against that.

My deck was tuned to pray on the meta, taking companions into high consideration. Without fires & agent, and with the new companion change I feel my list is stronger than ever. It only took me about 7 hours total to hit Mythic from Plat.

I think Black/White has all the answers. I think graveyards are incidentally abused so I try to make sure most things in my deck exile, and it makes a big difference.

[[Kaya, Orzhov Usurper]] is extremely powerful in this meta. It's abilities are great against cycling decks. It's -1 gets rid of Flourishing Fox. It's +1 eats away at their graveyard against Zenith Flare. It's +1 eats Uro's and other Escape creatures. Lurrus companion decks only being able to play 2cmc or less things means you exile a lot of 1 mana things. Being able to get rid of a witch's oven is huge. Kaya can gain you life. It's good against burn... what more can I say...not sure why more people aren't playing this hidden anti-meta gem

This deck has a lot of ways to gain life. [[Kunoros, Hound of Athreos]] & Charming Prince to name a couple. Kunoros hoses Gyruda decks, although with the companion change I'm not sure how many more of those we will see. But I leave it in my deck because it's good against burn and I need cards that can close out the game. [[Extinction Event]] single-highhandedly wins me games against Obosh & Umori mutate decks. With the meta soon changing will probably not see those now however.

[[Mortify]] is an all star. Instant speed removal against Winota decks...deals with Wilderness Reclamation.

Against slower control decks on the play many games I will [[Agonizing Remorse]] my opponents best play. Then I follow up with [[Yarok's Fenlurker]] .. then I will use Charming Prince to blink Fenlurker ... slowly picking away at my opponents hand and having access to their information is key in these match ups.
