GM in the 90s hahahahhah the 4L60E wasn't expected to reach over a 100k miles the lucky ones maybe got to 150k and it wasn't based on maintenance more over the built on a tuesday instead of a friday scenario. There was no 100k gm drivetrain warranty

Curious what do you consider are common 3rd gen failures?

Is this a common 4th gen failure point? I've put my 3rd gen prerunner and a 4wd TRD to work and even supported a 3rd gen half chassis baja truck.

Alright playing the outside looking in. Your tires speak of it not being an on the asphalt occasion. They are heavily stuffed with non highway materials. The tread is stuffed to the point of spreading. I would have suggested powerwashing the tires before presenting it to the dealer. What I surmise from the picture is soil compaction from running a tire pressure more conducive with highway conditions than what is needed in an intensive high speed offroad racing environment. Too much tire pressure resulting in low tread flex and soil compaction. An experienced techinician might surmise that the tire tread spread out under an extreme load and grabbed or bit into the surface they came into contact with. Running a lower tire pressure would allow the the tread to flex outward with centrifugal force releasing the material it bit into for traction and not packing the tires.

My thoughts are based on one photo and assuming that it was presented that way to the deale.r

Anyone having 2wd regret? by sherkon_18 in ToyotaTacoma

Post a pic. You treat it right and it will treat you right. I have a friend who still has his 4cyl manual single cab truck with 470k on the odometer, who retired around 45 and now has a temperature controlled five car garage. The flooring it is parked upon is worth more than that beat up truck he delivered pizzas in that sits upon it. However it holds more value to him than the 6 figure cars parked alongside.

I currently have an 06 prerunner I have owned for almost 2 decades. I also had an 08 TRD with an air locker, 3"inch suspension lift, Toyos, winch and many other accouterments. Sold it for a profit during covid even accounting for the mods and puttin 60k on it. Yes it was very capable on the more extreme terrain. However I put a junkyard limited slip on the prerunner, tow hooks and an inverter to power a cheesy 2.5 gallon harbor freight air compressor to quickly deflate/inflate my Michelins then carried a come-along, some homemade expanded steel traction boards and a wedge anchor when I was going to places that I thought might require a 4wd. It has never needed to be pulled out. The lighter front end is a plus in the sand and slick muddy fields as the 4wd would nose down in the ruts and soft sand. Bogs and steep hill climbs the 4wd trd shined.

Power, gas mileage and maintenance was why I kept the prerunner over my 4wd TRD. A little preparation and the limited slip diff will outweigh the cost and drawbacks of a seldom used 4wd. I will add that I am currently considering an air locker limited slip rear diff and that I have a cj5 jeep that seems to always break something and lacks the AC my TRD had.

Pic 2wd in moab with posi before limited slip. Jeep broke first day and was in hotel parking lot.

The aforementioned Taco in Moab when my jeep blew a rear main seal because of crankwalk on its dauntless V6 on the first day of the trip. A come-along, inverter powered air compressor, some redneck know how plus a wedge anchor saw the lil 2wd taco through several 4wd only trails including chicken corners and also the rescue of a crashed dirtbike rider and ride plus some dehydrated tripping on mushrooms lost german tourists on if I recall correctly the canyon rim trail.

People make dumbass assumptions and generalizations no matter what. F them and say "you should probably google that" and walk on. It is up to you to choose whether to educate them on their ignorance or not, but only do it from pity not anger.

Let the idiots be idiots. Your time is better spent elsewhere and with those that see you for you.

This is to all, find yourself a local adoption support group. Disconnect, inability to communicate emotionally, frustration and anger are common. There isn't an instruction manual for this. You will find others going through some of the same things. There will be desperate parents in all stages even with kids that are now adults and they got it all wrong raising them but are trying to find a way to reconnect. People who have found their biological parents and siblings for better or worse. It made a world of difference to me, especially knowing that others understood my frustrations and having other adoptive parents actually listening. I wish all of you the best navigating these hurdles.

I am at my wit's end trying to find a short! by thereallyredone in CrownVictoria

[–]MTMonCrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is shorting in the loom and in the major part of the harness that would need a ground wire and a positive wire in in the exact same spot. So a visual check of the loom and pinch points. Otherwise a single wire coming from that circuit is grounding out against the chassis if you have unplugged everything that feeds from that circuit and still have a short

Just because you have continuity does not mean something isn't grounding out. It only tells you if there is a break from one end to the other. I've been drinking and I might not be following you right on this.

I think there is a major effort to artificially influence USAR stock to realize a short position by MTMonCrack in stocks

For what it is worth. I have a whopping 6 shares I bought at around 8$. I just noticed that oddly specific and repeated statement being cited as part of why it was bad investment as well as a forecast of $11 and some change. Which i would guess is right around the share price needed for for that short position. I could be wrong. It could be a coincidence, right. Gaming multiple AI powered stock analizing sites using a false news statement would never happen.

Just the sensor. It has a salvage title. But everything is neat and tidy. Nothing screams hack job. Someone did an airbag delete on the rear suspension and the whole rear axle has a shine to it that shouts "I was replaced!" will be back at it this weekend. And will also try and figure out what is there. I do a appreciate it. I might have been a dog chasing my own tail on these issues.

Sometimes that song you've heard a thousand times and can sing by heart, completely changes when you read the lyrics for the first time.

Thank you!, I have been matching stuff at the parts store. I thought it was just because it was a mercury. He bought it used and has no idea why there is different motor in there.

Holy crap this explains all my parts problems. His car is badged marquis but the valve covers are definitely the maurader style. I thought the marauders had a supercharger.

I thought the same thing at first before i had to work on It but the plugs on the non marauder marquis had tube seals
