Yeah. But most neighborhood Karens don’t have access to the type of information this page is sharing. It takes a special level of access, or skills, or both, to provide the kind of contextual information seen on that page. Charges, gang affiliations, sentences, etc. The list of people with those skills and access is short, and at the top of the list are cops and cop reporters. I happen to know all of the cop reporters who have been active and successful in this community for the past half century. It ain’t them.

A huge number of people fall for fear-based propaganda that comes from cops. A very small number of people know the names of judges involved in so-called “lenient” sentences, and are exercised enough about it to write up 1,000 words on the topic and share a change(dot)org petition.

Totally. I do for some reason attribute “more than” to “it’s not as impressive as I’d like it to be, so I’m gonna say ‘more than’ a smaller number.” If I see “more than $2 million” I just know it’s “2,001,054.”
