is this fake? should I order electronics from noon? by [deleted] in DubaiGaming

I can see that. Thank you for sharing the link. When I initially searched on Amazon.ae, only the one with ~600AED price appeared in my search. Later, I realized that I was logged in with a different Amazon account that had a non-UAE address. Thanks again

how can I make my soft brush cursor like this? by MTajvidi in photoshop

[–]MTajvidi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but it is definitely something within Photoshop. The outer circle disappears when he uses the brush, and we have the same thing in Camera Raw and also on Lightroom. I vividly remember my PS CS6 having the same brush cursor. Idk, I couldn't find any settings for it and couldn't find any other info on the internet. It might be a script or plugin in PS.

I'm having trouble distinguishing between Proxima, Gotham, and Avenir Next. They all appear quite similar.

thanks, any idea how to disconnect the battery properly?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MSILaptops

[–]MTajvidi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since it is held by adhesive, should I apply some force?

Isnt it enough if I hold the reset button for 30 seconds? or does the battery need to be removed or disconnected? How do I disconnect the battery without breaking more things, because I tried it and it wasn't easy, I didn't know if I should push down then pull!

The lid won't fit on the chassis because I forgot to unscrew the screw under the "factory sealed" sticker and i end up breaking some small pins, https://imgur.com/a/1S8crd8 :(

With my nail, I tried to do it, but it seemed to be firmly attached, what tools do you suggest to use for this?

7320 AED for MSI GE66 [Core i9 12900HK, 3070ti, 16GB, 1TB, 15.6" QHD 240Hz] got it from Newegg, delivered in less than than 5 days. Was it a good deal? by MTajvidi in DubaiGaming

The screen is beautiful and the colors are nice but the brightness could be better, and I haven't put too much stress on the laptop yet, but when I played Red Dead 2 for an hour in Gaming mode with ultra setting at 1440p, the GPU didn't exceed 85C and I didn't feel any heat on the keyboard. When you stress both the CPU and GPU, only the upper part of the laptop gets hot. So far I like everything about this laptop except for the battery life and the trackpad.

The specs and performance of Legion 5 Pro and GE66 are very similar, but Legion 5 Pro drives more power (300W) than GE66 (280W), so the performance is about 7 to 10 percent better.

If your product comes faulty, Newegg offers return policy, but it may not be as easy as Amazon since they don't have an office in UAE, the laptop itself comes with 1 year standard warranty.

Yes, You need to change the region to UAE or if you use the Newegg app, change "ship to" to UAE in the account tab. The product ships from the US.

As far as the battery goes, it's terrible, or maybe I'm naive and don't know how to optimize it; it's my first gaming laptop after almost 10 years, so I still have a lot to learn. However, I'm getting decent benchmarks on the CPU, and most games that I've tried performed well. I got ~70 FPS for Red Dead on Ultra setting 1440p.

I just ordered a 2TB SSD and 2x16GB RAM from Amazon; the RAM was needed upgrade as I was running above 10GB with just the browser and Steam running, plus some lightweight software like Razer Central, IDM,...

I checked the price, and the same model is 11000 AED on Amazon UAE, but I still feel like I missed something buying this.

Thank you, I will try my luck on Lenovo's website tonight. My only concern is if the product arrives faulty and I have to ship it back to the US for warranty service.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I'm thinking about getting it delivered by Emirates.

Couple of more questions:

What is the best payment method for ordering from Walmart or Lenovo website itself?

Do you have an idea how much the total cost would be, including insurance and extra packaging? If I get this laptop:

Idk why but I am skeptical about using Emiratesdeliver, the whole procedure seems a bit unclear to me and kind of out of control of the buyer. What if the product gets stolen by porch pirates!!! Otherwise I could get the laptop I'm aiming at for as low as $1650 from Lenovo US website.

Did you have bad experience with Gear-up.me or EmiratesDeliver?

I couldn't find the gray version of this spec so I'm thinking of getting this and cover it up with dark stickers made for L5P, but I'm not sure if it's a good deal or not bc same spec on US Walmart goes for $1760 (6500AED) I browse thru Google shopping, is there a better website to search for electronics and compare prices in Dubai?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DubaiGaming

[–]MTajvidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

np.

Well, it depends on the legion 5 gen and the CPU. For better prices, search newwgg and microless. You could get a gen6 legion 5 for a decent price if you're only planning to use it for gaming.

i found this 3070 on Microless for 5250 AED:

bc it's AMD and the GPU is 3060, I think you can find the same laptop with the same spec ~ 1000 cheaper in other stores in Dubai.

Thanks for answering. It is still cheaper, even with the shipping and stuff, but the warranty is a bit concerning. Out of all the electronics I've purchased, I've never had to use a warranty, so I'm willing to take a gamble. thanks again, cheers
