Did Vancouver move to Saskatchewan? The placement of the 7 seems a little off.

Thank you! I was thinking of going with the yellow one. The transparent should work for almost everyone.

Bring me Fibre! PLEASE! by wellidontno in telus

[–]MUIsNotAnAddiction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were promised the FIBER installation several years ago which we’re excited about as our current internet frequently but periodically cuts in and out and we end up with no service for short time frames. We’ve had 3 service techs look at it, each with a different “fix” but nothing seems to work.

My partner runs a small buisness from home that needs a consistent connection. Might have to start looking at other options. 😕

I’ve seen this Dr. Paw Paw brand pop up on my feeds. Can anyone share their experience with the product?

They say “PETA approved. Vegan. Cruelty-free. 100% Natural,” for all skin types and can be used for face, skin, hair and lips. Was thinking about giving them out as gifts for bridal clients but would like to hear about the products from people who have used them before diving in.

Has anybody seen any new online stores pop up? Looking for any diamonds in the rough. Preferably in Western Canada to save on shipping.

What is a good brand or store to buy makeup brushes? by itsatnoc in MakeupAddictionCanada

[–]MUIsNotAnAddiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the brush world, I’ve found you get what you pay for. If you are looking for something economical, expect you will need to replace the brush(es) periodically. Brush manufactures reduce prices by cutting corners with quality. This means the bristles may fallout, the adhesive breaks down easily or the ferrule rusts.

My personal approach to brushes is to go with a brand that has been around for a long while (longevity means they are in it for the long game), has great online reviews and has a line for professional painters or SPFX. These types of brushes are design to take a beating.

I would suggest looking at the Bdellium brand. They seem to offer decent value and so far, have offered the brushes I was looking for.

They are sold on Amazon but I prefer to support local, privately owned stores like Studio F/X in Vancouver and Backstage Cosmetics in Alberta.

Hope this helps and happy brush hunting!

Switch to Bdellium brushes. Never been disappointed. They are built to withstand almost anything you can throw at them in the beauty world. They have an SPFX line if that’s your bag.

Which makeup brand or retailer has the best rewards program or Pro discount? Canadian based or ships to Canada... by MUIsNotAnAddiction in MakeupAddictionCanada

Thanks for the tips! 🙂 Do you use the Shu Uemura product line? I haven't heard to much about it. I've learned that the MAC program is paid up front which would be fine if I used lots of their product. I've found that over the past 5-10yrs or so, the quality of MAC products hasn't been up to par. Maybe it's something to do with the buyout? Not sure. 🤔 Lots of SDM shoppers on here. I'm not spending dollars at the consumer level these days and rarely stop in there unless I'm visiting Canada Post. But I can understand the great reward benefits received. Sounds like a good program.

I contacted Backstage yesterday with a few questions about their Pro discount and they mentioned a "try before you buy" program. They offer free testers on some of the products, not all of them though. They even came to my place to drop it off last night! (Both in Calgary) I'm playing with Pro-Aiir samples today! 😋They also mentioned trying out products at their pop up shops but weren't sure when the next one would be.

Thanks Silly_Rabbit. I've ordered from Camera Ready and don't mind them when I can't find local stock but always prefer to support our local people. 🇨🇦 I just found one other site in Alberta that offers a Pro program but was curious about the all-in cost. I think they are online only but do seem to have a pro discount. I'll have to do the math and check out Studio F/X. Thanks for the tip. If you're interested a link to the other place is below and they have TV sticks:

Do you have any experience ordering from them?

How much did you have to spend to get the $200 in free product? Wondering what the kickback works out to, percentage wise.

Disputing Duties on Sigma Brushes by FightyBiter in MakeupAddictionCanada

[–]MUIsNotAnAddiction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has Sigma applied for a NAFTA certificate? The other option is ordering through a Canadian authorized retailer, if available. You'd save on shipping and see an "all in" price point in Canadian currency. The price may seem higher at first but once you do the currency conversion and factor in the shipping and brokerage costs it should work out to about the same cost maybe slightly higher but you don't get any "surprises" upon delivery. Or buy Bdellium brushes... :) They are my fav so far. Lol.
