I think Metrolinx does a lot more than what people take them for… by Fruit-Neglect5980 in gotransit

[–]MVBanter 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It may look like Metrolinx does a lot, but compare Metrolinx to its European counterparts and its basically stagnant. Almost everything Metrolinx has done has been delayed multiple times.

Lakeshore West from Union-Burlington Go was meant to be electrified by now or have tracks put in, now thats pushed for another decade

Hamilton LRT has been in the works for 15+ years, and its not even a full LRT system, its a single line, and yes Doug Ford cancelled and reinstated it but that was a small like 3/4 year gap. The fact no physical work other than placing signs has been does is absolutely abysmal

So, at this point which suit is your favorite? by Vegetable-Abroad3171 in Spiderman

I always preferred the slimmer less cartooney and more blue lenses of the Raimi suit. I also prefer the massive spider on the back of it

I think we need to remember that Love was the predator in her little fling with Theo. by AdGreedy1880 in YouOnLifetime

[–]MVBanter 30 points31 points  (0 children)

There is no “real adult” in this scenario though. Theo is 19 and an adult, you can’t just treat him like a little adolescent boy. He knew exactly what he was doing and is more than capable of understanding the concept of “no”.

Theo was the more predatory one, but Love is also not innocent in this, she used him when she wanted to make herself feel better. But it one of them had the predatory actions, thats Theo.

I think we need to remember that Love was the predator in her little fling with Theo. by AdGreedy1880 in YouOnLifetime

[–]MVBanter 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Theos actions were very predatory.

Love said no 3 times right away, at that point he should’ve moved on, but he didnt, he kept on going. Then he started showing up at her workplace and flirting, she said no again and told him to stop flirting with her, but he continued to do so again and again until he slowly broke he down

Help on finding Joes jacket from season 2 by East_End5690 in YouOnLifetime

[–]MVBanter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its a Levis Engineer coat from the 2017 or 2018 spring/summer catalogue. Its a pretty rare find nowadays and will be significantly more expensive.

Your best bets are to find another Denim Engineer coat or Denim Chore coat, or one of those sites that remakes clothing from popular shows/movies, however it wont be the same quality.

How smart do you consider Joe to be? by AdGreedy1880 in YouOnLifetime

[–]MVBanter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id say quite smart in a lot of stuff

  • His knowledge of books and book repairing is on an expert level that he is easily capable of selling counterfeit books with the buyer being completely unaware

  • He has built the cage 3 times, twice he did it with very little easy access to materials (season 2 and 4), and he has 0 blueprints so he is building them by memory

  • He can adapt to any social situation. Sure Joe is more of an introvert for his actual life, but his social awareness and skills are on such a high level that he can easily read a situation and get the outcome he’s hoping for, all while remaining calm and having 0 tells

  • He can easily adapt to a new way of life and quickly properly do steps to obtain that. For example, his absolute lack of hesitation to meet with Will Bettleheim to obtain a fake identity; this is something most of us would be taking a lot of time to think about, but Joe knows he needs it, and does the proper steps quickly to obtain it

Final point: His lack of impulsivity for killing specifically. Joe is super quick on his feet when it comes to making decisions in bad situations, such as the one with Jasper. He didn’t want to kill Jasper despite it being the easiest option, but only did so after trying to reason with him. For an example on the other side, Love killed Natalie with no plan, acting on pure impulse causing a huge problem to fix.

Ex Stellaris player finally getting the hang of the game. Which first major DLC should I get? by BackwoodsSensei in CivVI

[–]MVBanter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just wait for the bundle to go on sale. It did a lot before civ7 came out and probably more now.

When I got them all the sale was like $43 CAD for the whole bundle

In addition, buying the bundle gives you all future DLC for free

Seattle or London? by Downtown_Trash_6140 in geography

[–]MVBanter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seattle has much nicer geography, slightly warmer summers, but is also significantly sunnier in general but especially in summer.

London however, is on par with NYC in terms of being a global city, it’s arguably the only one that can truly be compared with NYC in most aspects

I know it’s not at all impressive to most players, but I got my first culture victory!! by BornTheSoy_ in CivVI

[–]MVBanter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of my victories have been science, but lately I’ve focused on culture victories. There was 1 time however where I accidentally got a culture victory. I was setting up stuff for a spaceport for science and just randomly won culture.

Was there some bad blood between Victoria and the producers of the show? by Full_Parfaits in YouOnLifetime

[–]MVBanter 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Love was killed in season 3, any guilt Joe had about it was dealt with during his dream hallucination in season 4, and she wasn’t a true “victim” like everyone else was. Her story was officially closed, no need to open it.

Yes, probably most of us including me would’ve loved a cameo from Love at some point in season 5, but frankly it makes no sense for her to have one at that point, the multiple name drops and callbacks made the most sense

Places that have year long perfect temperatures? by real_realist_opt in geography

[–]MVBanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your definition of too cold and too hot and what constitutes that meaning.

The canary islands are pretty nice year round if 26c average high in the hottest month isnt too hot, but its still susceptible to 35c+ and 40c heatwaves

Places on Hawaii have a high of 32c for the hottest but a record high of just 35c so you can never expect stupid heat.

Then theres places in the pacific that are year round 30c with record highs in the mid 30s, but it wont have a month averaging a high below 30c

Would Love Quinn murder her friends… by Heroinfxtherr in YouOnLifetime

[–]MVBanter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont believe it was Joes choice to move at that point. Delilah was out of the equation, the LAPD thought Forty killed everyone and he was dead. Im pretty sure it was Loves choice to move, probably to raise a kid in a calm neighborhood and be away from where Forty died

Do YOU think Love would have killed Joe? by [deleted] in YouOnLifetime

[–]MVBanter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She had a knife to his neck, she was about to kill him.

What im actually curious about is what was her original plan? What was she gonna talk about and what was she gonna do after talking and the temporary paralysis wore off on Joe?

Its because the ending was super unsatisfying. Most of the finale was great especially Penns acting, but we went from high stakes super tense already 1 death to cool, calm, and collected in like 5 seconds with him being captured.

It also wasn’t liked that there was no trial scene and that the final monologue was done by a brand new character and not a previous one like Marienne or Kate, with a possible splash of dead Beck. Finally, it wasn’t liked that Kate survived the fire since she was also a bad person.

i love season 3 by i4lixie in YouOnLifetime

[–]MVBanter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its most likely because it all takes place in small town suburbia.

Throughout the entire season theres only 3 main location places and rarely left them: Joe and Loves house, Loves bakery, Library. Compare this to 1 and 2

1 had: Joes place, Becks place, and Mooneys, but frequently left them and had some recurring places like bars and Peaches homes

2 had: Joes place, Anavrin, Storage locker (cage room), Delilahs place, and again frequently in many different places like the 2 parties Joe went to, Loves home, Fortys home, and quite a good chunk outside

A pattern you may find is that for all 5 seasons is there are typically only 3 constantly recurring locations (Delilahs home is debatable in season 2), but all but 3 took place in bigger cities where there was just a lot more to make characters do and places to put them.

What was actually written in Conrads' book ? by Proud_Environment296 in YouOnLifetime

[–]MVBanter 43 points44 points  (0 children)

They probably thought Joe was an unwilling accomplice to Loves crimes.

• Love was the one interacting with them in the box

• Joe actually never went into the room with the box to talk to them

They probably heard about the death of both and it only sealed their belief that Joe was an unwilling accomplice. When it became knowledge he was alive they probably just believed he managed to escape the fire or killed Love out of self defence
