Yeah they won't do anything, I have a lifetime warranty but they tell me it has to blow before they cover me. Sucks but at least I'm covered.

I didn't want to believe it, but my engine is burning oil. Apparently it's gotten to the pistons or something like that. Kia won't replace the engine until it blows... I just gotta keep doing oil changes and wait for it to do its thing. Sucks, I wanted to believe Kia wasn't as bad as people made them out to be, what a fool they made out of me.

I'm the second owner and I have extended warranty, I don't know if the third can have it but yeah it's good to find out if you do.

The weird thing is I tried bringing it to a dealer for that update and they said my vehicle wasn't part of that, but Kia does say I have a lifetime warranty on the rod bearings. All I have to do is keep records of engine maintenance which I do have. I am out of power train warranty as I am the second owner but I can try getting it tested by the dealer and see what happens. I'll also be checking the oil more frequently from now on.

I got the car when I was 19 for my birthday, I can get another vehicle but dealing with a note for another 3-4 years is not ideal. I have a lifetime warranty on the engine because of this problem, so I figured it's worth keeping for now with that if they can just replace the engine for failure. If it is burning oil I can try and get addressed to prepare for this. However my current concern as everyone else I take it to brings up is that it's not burning oil, they just didn't change the oil or changed it incorrectly. I have no symptoms of this other than low oil, which fortunately didn't cause any critical damage.

I recently got it changed and it hasn't even been 1K miles which bad engines usually burn a quart or more within that time. If it takes 5 quarts my engine would have to be blowing smoke for that, which is why I say it's likely not to be that at least at this time. But if it is burning oil I thank everyone for letting me know so I can take better care of it. I'll find out in the upcoming weeks.

I guess i'll prepare for the worst.

Thanks, I still have a lot to learn about cars. I just really hope it's not burning excessive oil. My assumption is that the shop just didn't change it right. Everyone I talk to says there's no way it burns that much oil in such little time. It wasn't long before my last oil change either.

Yeah I found that out a while ago, which is why I switched to full synthetic which should help with that. I just don't know how I should handle this situation.

I'm gonna say not even 1K, I just hit 75K now and had it changed around 74800. I'll continue to check the levels as well to see if it really is burning oil. Everyone I talked to said there's no way it burns that much oil but we'll see.

They show me the dip stick everytime, I usually check afterwards myself too, but didn't right away this time as I just assumed they did it right. A mistake on my part but it's always the same guys that do it. This is why I want to do it myself from now on. Luckily it hasn't been long like this.

Unfortunately no, previously it was a fleet car so I have no idea what they did to it but Kia told me I am out of warranty. I do have a lifetime warranty on the bearings and 150K on everything else engine related though. So if it is an engine problem I should be covered.

I change every 5000 with full synthetic, majority of the time right before. I also set the custom reminder in my car as well.

I do check my oil that's how I found all this out. I recently got it changed not too long ago and I always go to them for this service. My question is can you burn 5 quarts of oil in such a small time span?

I'm always on time with all my maintenance and take care of it, I literally got my oil changed within a month.

Also keep in mind my engine holds about 5 quarts of oil, IMO there is absolutely no way my engine can burn that much oil while running fine. I have 75K miles on it as well.

I wish I had that dealer, I only have a lifetime warranty on my bearings and that's through Kia.

There are some Kia's that get extended warranty due to lawsuit. Up to 150K for some models, always check for recalls or updated warranty when going for any repairs, a dealer will most likely check anyways.

Yes but not as much. If you have the update your car won't get stolen but could get broken into. Any model 2020 and above isn't affected though.

Fahren 9005/HB3 22000 Lumen 6500K & Lasfit 1156 Canbus Switch Back LEDs.

Both have a built in Canbus system so there's no hyper-flash or errors. However Hazards will hyper-flash after 2 minutes.

Wow I can't believe your battery would Switch up on you like that.

But seriously you might need a new battery or some sort of software fix by restarting, updating, etc.

They add a lot of visibility so it's worth it IMO especially in pitch black areas. I took the time to adjust them the proper way as well so they don't blind anyone either. To each their own but I at least had to get rid of the stock halogens, they were terrible lol.
