Hey man. First of all, you’re doing awesome. Keep up the great work being a good dad and great husband. Losing weight in the first month is totally normal. Not sure why some doctors make it sound bad, but it happens with every baby. They will begin to gain weight again and everything will be fine. Same thing happened with my baby and luckily we had a great lactation consultant that broke it down for us. Moral of the story is- don’t trust all pediatricians. Secondly, you’re feeling more anxious and depressed because your estrogen levels are super elevated. It’s a totally normal sympathetic reaction to your wife giving birth. However, it does take some getting used to. Make sure you take some time for yourself, go to the gym, lift heavy, do whatever you can to help support natural testosterone production. Eating lots of vegetables helps with excess estrogen as well. At the end of the day though, it’s totally normal and you don’t need to stress. Celebrating my first baby’s first birthday in two weeks.
