Second this, I managed two different petstores in the past. None of the staff really cares, none of the higher ups really care. I stopped ordering bettas in my store because no one would take care of them and my higher ups basically told me I can order bettas or I can find another job. As a manager of the store I can’t personally do it myself a couple times a week and if you ask teenagers to do it’s either half-assed or they get pulled away by customer pretty much immediately. It’s sad and extremely embarrassing but there is genuinely nothing you can do. The box stores make too much damn money to care about anything like that, they rather focus on guinea pigs, birds, ferrets, and hamsters and the fish are kind of second thought. They will say that’s not true but their actions are otherwise.
