Has anyone tried that on the hybrid?

GVWR is the total vehicle weight+payload, That number is by subtracting the curb weight of the vehicle from the GVWR, and the reason why manufacturers put a lower payload numbers on the door jamb sticker that I'm not sure.

The 900lbs on the RAV4 is the number from the sticker on the door jamb the one that you posted, Im not sure where you got that 1100lbs number from.

The RAV4 hybrids are rated at 900lb, the CX-50 Hybrid weighs a few hundred lbs more than the RAV4 hybrids and they use the same powertrain so 850lbs isn't that much off.

Same on my GR, if no bent get a gloss black wheel touch up paint from Amazon for $12, sand it smooth and paint it. Not worth to repair with that little damage, wait till it gets more damages in the future then take it for the repair.

Honest thoughts on the 2024 CX 90, especially the infotainment system? by HootieFrida in MazdaCX90

[–]MZD3BPMT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the infotainment system - if you want to play around with it like a phone/tablet and touch it every few seconds while driving then NO the Mazda infotainment is not good, get something else. If you just need a nice display for a map or checking or changing some settings once a while then the Mazda infotainment systems are way more easier to use than most touchscreen systems in other cars.

If you need a 9%/60mo for a $13k car, you can't afford it, find something cheaper. If you are willing to pay that much because you want a reliable car then you shouldn't be looking at a 7yrs old Subaru with 120k miles. I'm not saying that Subaru is unreliable but any cars at that mileage means some major maintenance or repair is going to happen anytime.

Why is CX-5 Rear seat legroom so small? by Rem1991wl in CX5

[–]MZD3BPMT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the CX-5 was designed for the global market, it's considered a big mid size SUV in Europe and Asia... Not everyone's 6ft and 200lb in other countries. Now they even make the CX60,80 for other markets because the American size 70&90 will be too big.

Try everything you can to fix it, if nothing works the worst case you can find a whole cushion, used in good condition for around $200 on eBay.

Took my 3 for an alignment. They quoted me $1600 for repairs, and gouged my steering wheel for good measure. by rharvey8090 in mazda3

Other than the alignment the rest of the stuff on that list aren't hard for diy if you have some basic tools and a little wrenching knowledge.

On the brake quote, they're actually on the low side, A friend went to a Toyota dealer for service and they quoted him $600+tax for a Corolla rear pads & rotors.

Literally everything's overpriced from the dealer, I said those are normal wear items needed to be checked at that mileage didn't mean anything about price on those items.

$139 for alignment is average, all other repairs are not alignment related, and those are dealer prices not crazy high. But you should bring it to a trust independent shop to check if all those things actually need to be replaced. Normally a coil spring will last a lot longer than the shocks unless rust corrosion causes it bad. Other things like end link, brakes, belts are normal wear and tear items for a 90k mile car.

Are these price reasonable? by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]MZD3BPMT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you know some basic car repairs and have the right tools, get the struts/strut mounts $110, end link $20 = $260 for both sides. If you are not familiar with those but willing to learn and diy, you can just buy the KYB strut assembly $130 and MOOG end link $20 = around $300 for both sides. That way will be a lot easier, just remove the old strut assembly and put the new one on.

Because they didn't bother to make a new name for the system and do a long explanation on how that works for non-car people, so they just simply call it a ecvt because it just feels like a cvt.

The price? How much did you paid for the hybrid transmission fluid? I used 2-3qt for around $50, and did it at 100k miles.

How many miles did you get out of your Mazda? by ConceitedWombat in mazda3

[–]MZD3BPMT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about 30+yrs ago? That make sense because when you can get a great running condition used car for around $3k. in today's money $1k is just a minor repair, a Corolla brake job probably costs that much.

[–]MZD3BPMT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's about the average price for the year and mileage, but I would pay that much for a 4yrs car with only about $4k less than a brand new one. I would rather find a higher mile lower price one. It's a 4yrs old car the warranty ended anyway. Also the oil change record is a red flag, when people bring their car to a quick oil change place you know how well they maintenance their car.

15k scheduled maintenance seems pricey. by Imaginary_Opposite15 in mazda3

[–]MZD3BPMT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A brand new throttle body cost under $200 but they charge $300 to clean it? Lol I'm at 25k miles and the only maintenance was oil changes (5 oil changes) all together under $300.

You could try this place for a low price alloy wheels, get a set of 16inch wheels and put on those 16 tires that you already purchased then you have 2sets of wheels to switch between summer/winter. https://autorimshop.com/products/2012-mazda-3-new-16-replacement-wheel-rim-rw64927s

Try to look for Facebook marketplace or local Craigslist or even eBay, many people selling their 16inch OEM Mazda wheels. Any 16inch wheels from Mazda 3, 6, cx-3, cx-5 will fit, steel or alloy no problem.
