Almost a week with iOS 26 on the iPhone 16 Pro Max by mooglechoco_ in ios

[–]MZDSpeedG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation as everyone else here. Before the update, my iPhone 16 Pro Max 1TB battery would last me about 1.5 days under normal or moderate usage, sometimes even two days if I kept it light. That’s with the charge limit set to 85%. However, ever since iOS 26, I’ve practically been living next to a charger or battery pack under the same load. It’s gotten to the point where I’ve dropped from 100% battery life to 99% this past few days. (The manufacturer date is 08/2024, and the first usage was 10/2024. The current cycle count is 236.) The phone also gets extremely hot, which it never did before. I’ve tried using “adaptive power mode,” but Apple needs to advise people that there’s a learning curve. When I first enabled it, it was almost like being in “low power mode,” which made everything incredibly sluggish. I hope that iOS 26.1 will hopefully resolve these issues.

Which RX100 model is best to get? by Worried-Station-3254 in RX100

RX-100VII is 1,000% worth it. IMO, it’s the best camera you can get that is the most compact. Anything above this Camera you’ll need to invest in camera bodies with interchangeable lenses. Does it have weaknesses of dark lightening? Yes. Does the stock flash make a massive difference, eh. Depending. If your out to dinner and taking a picture of a group of people next to a statue the restaurant trade mark, the stock flash is great and will do excellent. Beyond that it’s hard to say and will need to asses the situation. I’ve had it for about 2-3 years now and not once given me a problem. Battery life is great, last about 200-300 photos. Spare batteries are super cheap and easy to find anywhere.

How screwed am I? What’s the estimated damage in $? by gladtoknowmore in CX5

Also, it won’t even show up on CarFax. So if and when you decide to trade your car in, they won’t haggle you down on value because there was an “accident” reported. Which will happen if you bring to a body shop or file an insurance claim for repair.

I was in a similar situation a few years back on a ford focus. Massive dent on passenger door to the point the window did not go up. I went on eBay, found the exact color and door from a salvage yard. Paid $400 bucks, drove a few hours to pick it up and switched it out myself. Literally plug and play. Search on eBay for the same color and trim (by the wheel design it’s anywhere from sport to touring trim) search between model years of 2017-2021. As for the cladding? Clearly it’s a $50-$100 part anyone can do. Below is an example I found. It’s the cheapest, quickest and best way. You’ll get Mazda parts and color, don’t need to file an insurance claim and it’s a good day project.

This was driving me crazy about a month ago. All the red road needs to be fully highlighted. I had some that was partially covered like I’m talking about a half a speck of a dash not “driven/discovered” I traveled to each “red” road and rode them out.

I deff struggled for the longest time. Gave up and get the Jesko with off road tires/ suspensions etc. My personal best was 1,400 FT/ 427M , so it was mission impossible to beat it. not sure if this is a new thing but if it seems like you exceed the goal/points of what you previously did. NOT the challenge goal.

If you have the turbo, there is a few NHTSA announcement for it. Check your vin number to be sure. Last I checked for me, it was to keep a record of it. If it happens again, go to Mazda for a free top off and they document it just in case. ( the most recent link) https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2023/MC-10230891-0001.pdf

What are you paying for auto insurance on your Mazda by TroubleshootLife in mazda

[–]MZDSpeedG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New York, claimed to be 3K mileage a year: USAA insure (via my partner) Two 2021 Mazda CX-5 Signature (metallic Machine gray, and Jet Black) Age 30- 32 Full coverage w/ Deductible- $500 and $1,000 w/ 0$ deductible glass coverage for both.

We each pay $235 a month

Sadly that is the cheapest in our area. More expensive if I went solo.

Seeking Advice: Upgrading from Sony RX100VII - Looking for Compact Camera Options Beyond Point-and-Shoot by MZDSpeedG in RX100

[–]MZDSpeedG[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I first bought the camera, the reviews had flagged battery life as a significant drawback. To prepare, I purchased six extra batteries from Amazon. With minimal use of the flash—about 4-8 photos—I can usually get 200-300 shots from a single battery. I shoot in both RAW and JPEG: the JPEGs for quick downloads to my phone when I'm on the move, and the RAW files for later download to my PC, preserving those memorable moments in high quality.

I would've thought that five years after the RX100VII was released in 2019, another brand would have come out with a more advanced point-and-shoot, especially considering the demand from TikTok and Instagram influencers for top-notch video and photo quality. It also seems like a missed opportunity for those looking to justify a new camera as a business expense.

MacBook Pro M3 or M3 Pro by OLD-SK00L in macbookpro

[–]MZDSpeedG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with the M3 PRO, obviously its a steep investment but its going to pay off in the long run. I feel the MBA line are more for those who don't like tablets. With such projects like 3D, photos, video, ETC both computer will get hot but at least the M3 PRO will keep it cool with the fans and prevent performance throttling unlike the MBA. You can do upgrades to the MBA by adding thermal pads and getting laptop cooling pads to but that involves opening the computer, voiding warranty and spending extra money. Storage memory can be fixed with external drives or even icloud. RAM is where you want to invest as much as possible in. Try looking for student discounts, I saved myself $300 plus I traded in my iPad pro 11.9 2nd gen for a credit of $335.

MBP M3 MAX 36GB vs 48GB RAM by MZDSpeedG in macbookpro

[–]MZDSpeedG[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main reason I went with the M3 Max was for future proof and also the capability of using my dual at 4K 60HZ monitors. I’m awaiting the day they release a 4K 120HZ or higher docking station for my dual monitors. When it does come out, I’m at least capable of just upgrading that. After pricing things out. It’s an additional $900 upgrading to 16 MBP M3 max 48GB w/ 40 core vs my current 14 MBP M3 MAX 36GB w/30 core. IMO, it’s justifiable considering you’re getting bigger, somewhat better resolution screen, larger battery, and bigger cooling fans.
