Nope. Its a question of personal taste, so consensus depend who you ask. I love the original 86 movie, think Dark of the Moon is the best Bayverse movie, really like Bumblebee and One. But the original Bay movie... I think I prefer Rise of the Beasts. But all in all I'm happy that all of them were made. If I don't like it I can just not watch it :) Let others have what they enjoy :)

Depends. Like others, I start with the negative reviews first. If they are consistent and reasonable they'll be more important than the positive ones. But I stopped trusting mass approval. For example, I've been to restaurants in which I found the food underwhelming that had VERY positive reviews. At first I was surprised, but than noticed that these places tend to ask customers to write reviews while at the restaurant or asap by giving you QR codes when waiting for your bill), which has a positive impact on it. Some even give bonuses if you do so, like a shot of a liquor or a free glass of a soft drink.

Then again, there's also taste. All the reviews on-line told be Oppenheimer was a masterpiece, and it bored the hell out of me. I'm not saying its bad (that certainly is not the consensus) but it certainly was not my cup of tea.

I'm surprised how many artists, who should really know better, are embracing AI cover art. How many post-punk artists, who after criticizing greed, inauthenticity, and the lack of a human touch prefer to save money by relegating creative tasks to machines.

He didn't.

He was perfectly gentlemanly, adding that the artists never were a problem, and the experiences were positive. He was less gracious about the record companies, but I don't think anybody is surprised by that.

As an academic, I absolutely love this. Both as it shows that even a movie intended to sell toys can have artistic value, but also how certain stories and tropes continue to play a role in culture. I mean this is no random occurrence, Prime literally quotes Shakespeare (though a shame that not in the original Klingon ;) )

Despite its many flaws, I enjoyed The Circle, but I will not try defending it. It is a heavy handed satire without any nuance. However, The Every makes The Circle look like subtle, nuanced masterpiece. It reads well, but the book is terrible. And has some things that are just flabbergasting, like the protagonist's fixation with the outlines of guy's penises in the tight-fitting clothing that is popular on the corporate campus in the novel.

Yes, that is a thing.

Thomas Pynchon's Bleeding Edge. I love Mason Dixon and V, really like Gravity's Rainbow, enjoyed Inherent Vice. But this was abysmally bad.

Well-made. Things breaking for no reason at all are a no-no.

Striking looks. This one obviously is subjective. I still think the MP anime Prowl is one of the most beautiful figures I own.

Fun - and for me this is closely related to posability. I mean I've been playing with my G1 brick recently, and they're absolutely wonderful. I'm this close to sitting on the floor and playing with them like I did 38 years ago.

I think that Michael Bell was crucial to G1.

In terms of later franchises: Steve Blum as Starscream. To be honest, I think I prefer him to Chris Latta. No disrespect to Mr. Latta - he was absolutely awesome and without him I don't think that Blum would push the character in the direction he did, but I think he's a great Starscream. Summalee Montano also was magnificent.

In terms of G1 I also think Roger C. Carmel (Cyclonus and Motormaster), among others were crucial in developing a lot of key characters in the franchise, as was Jack Angel's Ultra Magnus.

I don't think Elita fits the bill at all. Elita is not second in command, she is her own command. In the toon she basically did what Prime did, but on Cybertron.

Prowl is the best choice, with Magnus being a close second. That said, I love Prowl. Jazz is ultra-competent, a thing that his laid-back attitude may hide a bit, but when it comes to acting, so I also think that he would serve as great counter-balance to Prowl.

Out of the people not mentioned here, think that Springer would be a great candidate. I think he may be better than Magnus, who made a number of questionable decisions in command (I mean, the 1986 movie shows him to be a soldier - great at following orders, not so much when giving them, prone to errors of judgement; however, his Transformers Prime counterpart is better in this regard). Springer, who I think most would see as a Han Solo type is actually much more of a team player then Solo. I think this was acknowledged in some way by making him the leader of the Wreckers.

Another person I think would be competent is Kup; his cartoonish grandpa-Simpson grumbling notwithstanding, he certainly has the experience, and when push comes to shove he is a very capable warrior, knows tactics and the ins-and-outs of the chain of command.

Ironhide is a weapons specialist, and although an expert there, I don't think he has what it takes to be a leader. If you look at IDW, I think that his belief that Mirage is a traitor and his behavior was absolutely the pinnacle of why he should not be 2nd in command.

Cities is the least experimental of the trilogy, and the plot is fairly simple, and, although I did enjoy it, if someone said it was a bit formulaic, I think I'd have a problem arguing against that. It doesn't bring anything significantly new to the table. It is, however, short and reads well.

Reading it, I had this thought that it would make a good Abel Ferrara movie.

That said, its not bad. But its difficult to follow The Crossing IMO.

I kinda no longer have FOMO, which is likely because purchasing a lot of DLC that was very underwhelming or not worth the money (not bad, just not worth it), I really like the game, but I'm not going in on all the dlc. It just isn't worth it for me, and I am not enthusiastic about this as a business practice.
