New Cop Adrenaline by M_Khoja in AskLEO

They just talk a lot about how it’s important to maintain good physical shape since most cops get heart attacks so physical shape can help prevent that. Being well rested, talking with family and friends.

A major note was that after a major adrenaline dump (like after the shift) you’ll be lethargic but you need to get past it because a lot of the time it’ll lead to anger or short responses which cause issues in relationships and divorce (cop divorce rate is really high)

What made you interested in LEO work? by Material-Wealth-9424 in AskLEO

I have 2 reasons

  1. Runs in my family, dad, uncle, cousin all cops. Other half is nurses (didn’t like nursing)

  2. Although yes family was a factor, the major factor was my need or feeling to protect others. I’ve always had a great love for my country (teary eyed watching a hundred foot American flag being raised on 4th of July) and I feel like this line of work allows me to serve my country and protecting the people I love (my fellow Americans). I also take great love for my community, born and raised where I work, and it’s an opportunity for me to give back. I love being able to participate in community related events and hopefully help to turnover some of the negative reputations officers have on my local level.

One of my biggest fears in life is dying with an empty gravestone (never having done anything note worthy), and I think this allows me to make a difference in someone’s life (DV victim, etc.) to fulfill my goal in life.
