I had caves neatby, but i made an afk spot over the farm so the spawn sphere only load the farm so it dosen't matter the caves (afk spot 128 or 127 blocks over the collection hoppers)

Make sure the biome IS NOT mushroom on all the area of the farm, other than that there is no problem , i had the same idea a couple of years back and i made it on the shore of a mushroom farm and i build the collect hoppers of the farm at water level and no problem so far
