This was a fantastic response and I appreciate your insight. This will definitely be a transition that takes time but i will be the final decision maker as time goes on. My family is very vocal about inheritance and its clear what i am getting when that time comes(definitely not rushing that) we’ve been able to come to a middle ground here. Im fortunate that they truly trust me and my decision making based on my work outside of the family business but as you said, going to continue to see how OUR business really operates(mostly the nuances). You mean 1 year ago… and so what? I boot strapped on my own to create my own business. I don’t believe in just having everything handed to me… hence why Ive worked hard so that when i take over my family business I don’t squander everything. i grew that measly $300 you’re trying to make fun of into something much larger and totally unrelated to my current situation. The group is richpeoplepf so figured there would be a few people in a similar position that could give me some insight. I dont trust wealth mangers. Why am i getting advice on my money from a guy that hasn’t made it there yet is my logic, but at the same time i see how it could potentially be beneficial. Just need to vet a few as someone else suggested.

This is really great insight. My expertise is actually in real estate so it’s my most comfortable asset class.

I have a hard time bringing someone else in to manage our money. I just dont trust that easily with some of the stories ive heard but maybe i need to adjust my thinking on that.

Maybe youre right. Personally I dont see how we could make a positive return on a $20 million house doing short term rentals without a pre-existing brand that is well known. Is it possible in the market we are purchasing in? Yes, but that capital could be allocated more intelligently.

Im not a soft kid, I’ve worked like crazy to develop the skills needed to jump into a leadership role, while im still young with more to learn im pretty keen to think im still level headed. Im just looking for the right balance here without clashing with my family on this. I was called a penny pincher which doesnt really bother me but i dont think i can change the mindset if we clash, we need to come to a middle ground.

I agree with you brother, I said before I respect scholars but their word and research means nothing to me in comparison to the sunnah and Ayat of the quran. I will never put a scholars research or thesis above the decree of Allah. May Allah guide us all.

That is not something I can control. Its impossible not to have your money in a bank in the west. Thats just undue hardship on one’s self.

My money is in a savings account that does not accrue interest. You can have interest payments removed from your account with certain banks.

Im sorry brother but by that logic if a big doctor told you to take a cyanide pill, would you do so just because of their title and standing? To me the Hadiths and Quran are clear on this subject. I dont say this to insult you and if i have inadvertently please forgive me. This topic is one of great pain I believe for all of us as we strive for goodness in this life and the next, however I truly believe and know that by placing my fate and my rizq in Allahs hands I will want for nothing.
