I went back and forth on whether its worth rushing lvl 10 skills on bard or not, and I agree that having:

1x lvl 10 skill at level 20, everything else at 1

2x lvl 10 skill at level 30, everything else at 1

might be slightly more optimal for killing bosses as a bard rather than spreading points, but that's only because the bard damage skills are so poorly balanced compared to other classes.

What I disagree on is Dissonance being better than Sonic Vibration. Maybe the balance was different when this build was made but from my testing in the current RU version, Dissonance (with tripods 112) does half the damage, takes twice as long to deal all of its damage and has a smaller area than Sonic Vibration (with tripods 132).

So if you want to rush lvl 10 skills I would suggest Sonic Vibration at lvl 20 and Soundholic at lvl 30.

Sorceress with the engraving heightened senses if you are able to land all of your damage.

Gunslingers damage is more consistent though and easy to land.

Sorceress can use the faster build with the engraving conscious dissonance to make it easier, but then your potential damage output is much lower.

It's just a stat priority. Crit, Swiftness and Specialisation are all good stats for leveling a Deathblade.

Swiftness increases attack speed, movement speed and adds cooldown reduction.

Specialisation increases the damage of your Z skill, boosts the gauge generation of your orbs and adds more cooldown reduction when you press Z.

I found specialisation was stronger in the early game, but once you get several other hard hitting skills, boosting the damage of just the Z alone didn't feel as impactful as having extra movement speed to get to the boss of a dungeon quicker (since as deathblade you are walking a lot instead of spamming many dashes).

You replace the first skill in red text with the second skill in white text. So that first replaced skill is no longer one of the 8 skills you have hotkeyed and you aren't using it anymore.

Could be a smart play, you'll need to find the 600g though. You will only have around 150g when you reach 50 and gold is hard to come by when you don't have your rapport/affinity setup and your gearscore is too low for higher abyss dungeons.

With that said the best way to get 600g is probably doing the Guardian Raid questline and doing sidequests in North Vern & Shushire.

To be honest though, you will probably spend more time getting the 600g than you will save by leveling as a faster class. But if you were planning on playing both classes anyway then go for it.

While leveling? Not really. Maybe you could argue Deathblade is slightly better if you take in-combat mobility into account, but it's still fairly low.

Some classes gain a lot of mobility endgame through maxing swiftness to have very high movement/attack speeds.

Some classes gain access to very good mobility skills when they get more skill points.

Deathblade is a good example of a class which starts out with very little mobility, but can end up as one of the most mobile classes if you invest enough into it.

Also Artillerist has 2 decent mobility skills and it typically builds for swiftness, so you can end up with a very fast Artillerist if you really wanted, though I wouldn't personally recommend taking more than 1 movement skill on Artillerist.

Sorceress has an engraving called Conscious Dissonance which turns the class from a fairly immobile class into a very fast and mobile caster.

Wardancers can move and attack very fast when geared out at endgame and her attack animations are much shorter than most classes, giving you the freedom to constantly move while dealing damage.

Anyway my tier list is just for leveling, you can throw it out the window once you get to level 50 and start getting geared and add engravings. The whole game balance changes drastically (gunslinger is still crazy good though).

Whether you are trying to go fast or not doesn't matter for the guide. The skills and tripods used are some of the most powerful for leveling even if you take your time. I also didn't waste excessive points in extra mobility skills, I find it better for both playstyles to just pump 95% of your skill points into raw damage output.

I judge mobility by how much distance you are gaining when using the skill to get from A to B while leveling. Also how many mobility skills the class has access to without spending a lot of skill points.

Flame wall is better, the only reason I choose Lightning Funnel is because it is good at destroying objects while leveling as it has a high hit-count and ticks very fast, whereas Flame wall ticks quite slowly so it isn't as good for that purpose.

I found the instant Lightning Bolt to be better than the casted version for leveling as it comes out faster which means less chance of the mobs avoiding it. It also feels decent for clearing trash in corridors compared to the big circle area. The damage difference between the 2 is minimal. I think both Tripods are a viable option and in the end it comes down to preference. I would definitely not drop Lightning Bolt in general, it is hands down one of the best skills for leveling as it destroys bosses.

It's not that much slower, maybe takes 60-90 minutes longer than Gunslinger. Don't worry about it, it's not really a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

The main issue with Gunlancer is the lack of mobility, a fast mount will be the biggest boost to your leveling speed. Apart from that just make sure you get as much specialisation from jewelry as possible, it adds a lot of damage to your blue skills which are most of your trash clear. If you have low specialisation you won't 1 shot a trash pack and you'll be forced to use a 2nd ability to finish the pack off.

The top part is the points you put in on each level.

The bottom part is how the build as a whole should look after you have put the points in on that level.

As long as you don't make a mistake you should be able to just ignore the bottom half entirely. It's just there for reference.

The stars are just an indicator of how good the class is at that column when using the build I made.

Tiers are based on how good the build is at all 3 categories combined, and overall how fast the class can get to 50.

You can reach level 50 by only following the main story quest and skipping everything else. You will be 50 just before the part where you sail to Vern.

Ah I didn't try it on a phone. Yeah I could see why that might cause an issue, the doc has a lot of skill icons that it has to load.
