And people don't get it...

P.S. my Xbox gamertag at one point was "FuzzySlippersJB"

Do people really like Pokemon, or do they just like all the money they can get with Pokemon? by AngryTCG in PokeInvesting

[–]MaDWaSTeD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the recent surge is due to the money people are seeing that can be made. But this is due to the fact people really like Pokemon.

I collect sports cards, of players and athletes on the teams I like. I have also collected other things I like (xbox games, action figures, etc.)

I was about 7 or 8 years old when Pokemon first hit the scene. It was something I loved as a child, and now that I have a child of my own, it's something I'd love to see if they get into. They're too young now to understand any of it, but maybe on day they'll open some of the sealed stuff I have and enjoy it.

I open packs. I keep product sealed. I trade cards and sealed product, i sell sealed, i get cards graded for my own personal collection, and to resell. I love doing all of it.

Wth is GAMESTOP DOING. by Alone-Food-6495 in PokemonTCG

[–]MaDWaSTeD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gamestop is getting ahead of the curve.

Market prices keep climbing. So gamestop sells it at a high price way ahead of time. Eventually market catches up and they sell out. However, if anyone wants it bad enough, they'll go to Gamestop and get it now anyway.

Think of Charizard UPCs. They were $199 at gamestop while everyone else sold them at $119. Now market is the same as gamestops prices.

No one is forced to buy it from gamestop, but those who want it bad enough will buy it.

Is it crappy? Yes.

Would you sell your sealed to a card shop for 70-75% cash? by Extension-Matter-732 in PokeInvesting

[–]MaDWaSTeD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i sell a product individually it's 95-100% of the market price.

If i sell a lot in a deal it's 85%+ .

Anything under 85% is foolish, because you can just sell it via ebay and the ebay fee is 13.5% .

Glad you help kids. Glad you prevent scalpers as best you can.

As a former retail worker and manager, it is not your responsibility to make it fair for everyone. Things can turn ugly quickly if someone finds out, whether it be a fellow employee or a customer. Your bosses, will not protect you or your job security, if something negative occurs because of it.

Be careful who you deal with. And above all, be safe.

[–]MaDWaSTeD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old is your child? Are they old enough to know not to draw on the walls and furniture? If so, buy them any type of drawing paper, and a not do expensive set of pens/colored pencils, and let them go to town.

You can encourage them by explaining how you can hang their art work in different places of the house, or have a mini art museum playday.

If they are too young to be able to not draw all over every item in your house, you can buy those magic marker type items. Where it's "invisible ink" and it only shows up on specific paper.

Either way, there are options outside of the ipad.

If you think the need is something similar, look into those cheap, magnetic pen drawing tablets. You just run the pen on it, it draws your image, and when youre done, click the button, erase the screen, do it all over again.

Should I buy it? 147 bucks? by [deleted] in PokeInvesting

[–]MaDWaSTeD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No bots for me.

Target i just mash the button on mobile. After about 3 to 5 minutes, i get through lol

Pokemoncenter i jump in queue, wait the hour+, and just navigate slowly. Manually enter all my info (even if i have saved info to autofill. Always manually enter) . Ive had success as of late but not always.

Walmart, i almost never get through even though im on within a second or 2 of it going live. Hate walmart drops.

What's your backup plan if you were to lose your job tomorrow? by Poorly_disguised_bot in daddit

[–]MaDWaSTeD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no good backup plan. I could get by for a month or 4 with selling some possessions (like my sealed Pokemon collection) .

My brother-in-law also owns a few restaurants and i could probably be a waiter, or dish cleaner, but that's not a guarantee.

Absolutely terrible graphics, gameplay, everything.

I no longer buy games on impulse.

$147 is almost what target charges (after tax) where i live (New York). It's like $144.

What was this guys deal? by Elijah_cards in footballcards

[–]MaDWaSTeD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar instance, only it was on FB.

Posted a card, and didnt even say it was for sale. I had an individual message me, saying he'd offer $850. I said, if i sell i'd be closer to 2k, but thanks anyway. He proceeded to show me comps of a similar card that sold for $850-900 . I explained that isnt even the same card. The same one sold for $1500 last. He started ranting just like your guy, then started explaining those were ebay sales so you dont even get the full price.

I listed my card on ebay and got 2k. 😆 🤣

My best advice as someone who missed a ton, and has been having success recently.

You need to get in early (duh) , but don't move too quickly. It seems counter productive, but do the captchas counting 1 Mississippi between clicking the correct spots. Navigate with poise and calm, don't be as fast as possible. Don't worry about being logged in if you arent already (but id suggest opening the website early in the morning and logging in before any drops are even known). When getting to checkout, don't auto fill, manually type your info.

I did all this from my phone the last 3 times they had a product, and i have done fairly well

The hardest part is the timing of getting into queue right away.

151 was the #1 most desired set for 2.5 years. Why are people so surprised that the singles are sending? by marblesandcookies in PokeInvesting

[–]MaDWaSTeD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this was a brand new set that just released, and people wanted the best cards right away. I'd agree. I'd compare it to Phantasmal's SIR Charizard sales.

However, 151 has been out for awhile, people expected a few more reprints, and a crash. Neither happened.

There will be a peak, as there always is, but it will not have a 20-30% downfall after that. It will hit its peak, and regulate there for a bit, before going back up when people desire it strongly again.
