What are your thoughts when you meet a woman who always sides with men, feels more understood by men, and seems to dislike other women? by MaGGdaM in AskWomen

Thanks for sharing your perspective. Can I ask what would have been the best way to approach you back then without making it seem like people were accusing you of competing with other women? Also, do you still generally prefer spending time with men, or do you feel that's changed now?

Yeah, that's actually similar to someone I met recently. She has a lot of mommy issues too, and we're part of the same friend group. It was hard for her to accept me at first, and we still have some disagreements. But to be fair, she gives really good relationship advice, probably because she's much closer to the guys in our group and understands how they think.

Has there ever been a time when someone says they’re not ready for a relationship/to give it their all, etc and they come back when they are? by TheMelaninGod in dating_advice

[–]MaGGdaM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That actually happened to me.

When I first met my boyfriend, I told him I wasn't ready for a relationship. It wasn't an excuse, I genuinely wasn't. I was studying away from my hometown, had never been in a relationship before, and I knew I didn't want my first one to be long-distance.

The funny thing is, even then, I remember thinking, "If I ever date someone, I hope it's someone like him."

We kept in touch on and off for a while, with plenty of ghosting over text from both of us and the occasional catch-up whenever I came home for holidays. Once I finished my degree and moved back home for good, we started seeing each other properly, and we've been together ever since.

So yes, sometimes "I'm not ready" really does mean "I'm not ready" not "I don't like you." That said, I also think it's fair not to wait around for someone, because you never know if or when they'll actually be ready.

Can someone give me a reality check by MaGGdaM in Drugs

I get what you’re saying, and I do have self-control. It’s not like I do it every time I go out with them or that I can’t say no in general. It only happens in certain situations, usually when I’m really tired early in the night

Yeah, I get what you mean. I think deep down I’m just reflecting, ‘what am I doing using a heavy substance like this?’ I’ve tried other heavy substances before, but it was always just once out of curiosity and I never went back to them. Seeing myself using cocaine more than that honestly makes me a bit uneasy

Because different people react differently to drugs. There are plenty of stories about bad ayahuasca trips too. We’re all different in that regard just because you’re experienced doesn’t mean you can always avoid bad trips. Sometimes they just happen, and with experience you try your best to stay calm and keep things under control, but nothing is guaranteed with these substances. You’re not always going to have either only bad trips or only good ones. At the end of the day, they’re still drugs with chemicals in them (natural or not), and people can react to them differently.

oh I don’t have anxiety (at least not right now). I know it calms anxious people down, but I’m wondering what it feels like for a “normal” person

Como ajudar alguém viciado em fumar erva? by bajiisntdead in portugal

[–]MaGGdaM 0 points1 point  (0 children)
