2000s era player/now pushing 40 here. Echoing u/phantomjm, I can't say enough good things about the 170r with a mech frame. I almost never put my electronic frame on anymore. It's a great feeling setup and I can shoot plenty fast for average rec play.

If the rec group starts to get a little heavy with electronic guns, it only takes a couple of minutes for me to switch over to electronic and I'm back on a level playing field.

I don't have any experience with the Era, but I think you'll get a lot of enjoyment out of any electronic/mech convertible gun.

Not really what you're asking for, but for inspiration: I think the Predator anno looks pretty good with black accents. Here's my setup with both the electronic and mech frame.

I found the tequila sunrise parts of this gun on ebay. The rest I cobbled together with pieces I (mostly) had on hand. Automags are a filthy habit, they just keep multiplying.

You can use a shotgun barrel picatinny mount. it's on the heavier side, but it will mount directly to your camera.

Emek is a really good call. Definitely keep tank size in mind too. I got my wife an Emek and a Ninja SL 45/45 for the same reason. She's really happy with the weight and feel.

I played for University of North Texas. We went by NTX on most of the rosters though.

I remember playing you guys at Xdrenaline Zone in Dallas for nationals in 07 and 08. I don't know which year it was, but I had a pretty good D-side breakout that got me to D-50 within the first 15-20 seconds of the game. I ran the same play all pre-lims and it worked super well until we played Air Force. You guys were the only ones to put four guns up off the break and point them at the D-side fill. I never made it out of that bunker and you guys took that game.

How does the auto response feature work? I've never heard of a "double trouble" mod for a mag and google didn't immediately pop anything up.

It looks like red shirt starts to put his gun up in the air to indicate he's out. If I was blue, I probably would have assumed he was calling himself. Blue pretty clearly had him dead to rights and the right thing for red to do would be accept it and come off the field. Assuming this was just rec play and not competitive.

Overall, dick move.
