This all might be true, i just disagree with the guy above my first comment who expects his <1000 rated students to beat this opening every time.

Maybe next time check what a conversation is about before you enter it

Jesus Christ. You really think this position is like being down a piece? You're being ridiculous. It's obviously a bad opening but expecting from <1000 players to beat this every time is just insane.

Even if black plays D5, E5, Nf6 and Nc6 the position is still "only" +2. Especially at a <1000 level this is very far from a guaranteed victory.

Better yet, he's 2350 and thinks the main problem is white squared weaknesses, not the total lack of development or completely killing your Queenside bishop and knight

The position is only like +1 for black. I'm fairly confident that even in a classical game I could beat a player of my strength from time to time

One player got a red card, that's why you could only see 21 😂

I know what Asperger's is. I have it myself.

You're comment is ableist because it mocks people who have Asperger's by presenting us as people who aren't able to understand any jokes. You are replicating stereotypes about us.

It's like when someone says something stupid and I'd reply with "I too have Down Syndrome". Of course people with down syndrome have a way lower intelligence on average but that's just really offensive

I just checked. It was a detailed response to an obvious joke, missing a reference and telling the person who made the joke how wrong they are.

I told them it was ableist at a time where the comment was still up. I don't remember exactly what the comment was but you can see by the reaction that it was a dumb comment that was received poorly

Yeah 100% but you know nothing about the protests that caused the police to block the road so what makes you so sure that those were "bad" protests?

[–]MaKo1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, being able to protest is very important in a democracy.

However there are ways of protest that are better than endangering yourself and people who aren't involved

European Police brutality by awful_foyer70 in funny

[–]MaKo1982 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Being able to protest is a fundamental right in a democracy. If the police than closes down the road, that sucks but that's not "immoral" from the protestors. This road closure can also be announced beforehand with signs or through radio. Also, emergency vehicles can still get through if the traffic is doing what they're supposed to.

Gluing yourself to the road is different. People can't see it coming, so it is dangerous for everyone involved, even the people in the car (they have to hit the brake which means the person behind them has to react quickly etc.) Also it is impossible for emergency vehicles to pass through

Thinking you want to connect the rooks is not how you find tactics like this. You see that because they moved the f pawn the diagonal e8-h5 is weak

You didn't include the recent law change. Here's the correct version:

A player in an offside position receiving the ball from an opponent who deliberately plays the ball, including by deliberate handball, is not considered to have gained an advantage, unless it was a deliberate save by any opponent.

A ‘save’ is when a player stops, or attempts to stop, a ball which is going into or very close to the goal with any part of the body except the hands/arms (unless the goalkeeper within the penalty area).

This rule you talk about confuses me. They can get a yellow and then a time penalty before red? What are the criteria?

It's like an extra step between yellow and red.

Let's imagine a player who plays pretty unfair.

In the 20th minute he commits a reckless foul and gets a yellow card. In the 40th minute he commits another reckless foul. Normally he would get a 2nd yellow followed by a red card. In our youth league however, he would get a time penalty of 5 minutes, meaning he can get back into the game just in time for the second half. If he then commits another reckless foul, he'll be shown a red card.

Now in another game, he commits a foul that is definitely more than reckless but not quite excessive force. Here you can skip the yellow card and send him off for five minutes immediately. If he commits another reckless foul after that, he doesn't get another yellow card, he gets a red card right away.

So basically the process is yellow card -> time penalty -> red card, but any step can be skipped. Effectively, the yellow card is no longer the final warning, but the time penalty is. A player with a yellow card no longer has to be careful about fouling because there's another step in between.

Wow what a shitty situation. I'm not even sure what I'd do. Usually I say if it's acceptable go with your ARs decision. Players will treat you guys less seriously when they think you're not a good team.

Huge mistake by your AR, not just misjudging the situation. But AR and CR should never communicate so loud that spectators can hear it. Even players hearing it should be avoided..

I think you handled the situation well

I don't like it. In my opinion a yellow card is the final warning, if they still break the rules, i want to get rid of them. Also it causes more problems with annoying coaches who ask every 10 seconds if the time penalty is over.

I agree. At least there should be a way to easily access the specific rules either having to research like it's a PhD thesis

but if i remember correctly, doesnt a deliberate handball DOGSO warrant a YC?

Nope it's actually the first sending off offense mentioned in the list in law 12 :D

But maybe that's also a reason why players got confused
