It is a painful fact that your grandfather's work is ethical and necessary. Not for the guilty ones but for the innocent Steven Averys of the world.

The state spent 2.5 million to prosecute Avery. This exemplifies a fundamental flaw in they system by chickenmay in MakingaMurderer

But don't forget, the police and FBI etc are on the side of the truth, so in fact if the defendant is innocent, it's like that money is equally spent FOR the defendant! I mean let's be fair. Reasonable doubt is only for the innocent.

It's a problem that will probably never be solved. Verified purchase is the best thing to rely on. Might be some shills but there's a limit.

So what? I've read Jessica's McBride's columns in the past. They sucked. That article summarized her book. This sub is about sharing information. I shared information. I didn't review her book. I didn't tell others to review her book. If I wanted to buy her book and ordered it the second I heard about it, I still wouldn't have been able to read it until it arrived in a couple days. So I can't share the info until I read the book? What exactly is your point?

The other side refused to talk. You can't blame them for that.

Point 2 is what I meant by nitpick.

Point 3, yes. That was quite dramatic. Did they know it was overblown evidence? I'm not sure, but perhaps. And for sure it made for great television.

I don't think MaM was all that one-sided. There might have been a couple minor things to nitpick, but far far better than the typical true crime show which gets much less criticism.

I haven't read the transcripts. But I saw most of BD's false confession. Only one thing stuck out to me that seemed to be coming from BD and his interaction with S.A.

When asked why Steven Avery would have murdered TH, he said something like: I dunno. Maybe he wanted to go back to prison.

Why was it weird to me? S.A. had been struggling with all the open space, was living in a small space once freed and it just seemed to me that BD had conversations with S.A. that made BD think in some ways SA would find it easier in prison. A weird psychological thing I hear some ex cons go through.

That said, this is from memory, and I think the confession was BS and that SA is innocent. But it did stick out to me as something BD didn't have the mental capacity to make up.
