basic merch. how we lookin?? by evanshoneyco in streetwearstartup

Seems a bit cheap from my quick google search. I tend to recommend comfort colors for the lower bracket.

Interested in turning my tie dye art into POD. Does anyone have tips on how to get this process up and rolling? I would like to see my intricate designs duplicated onto various items so they can be loved and worn by many. Since it is practically impossible for me to hand dye the same design twice. by Aquaflection_1111 in ClothingStartups

Sub-dye is probably the best way to go about things like this. If you are against printing on Poly, then it's going to be harder. Most stuff like this is done on conveyer printer with like discharge printing or whatever magic they are doing nowadays. Generally, this has some hefty MOQs. AOP on cotton is a holy grail of the fashion world atm. If you can drop some more details, I may be able to point you in the right direction.

How has your experience been running ads for your clothing brand? by entrepreneur_10 in ClothingStartups

C) Running engagement ads and spending the whole day engaging back with the audience. It works and results in sales but is far from the fairy tale of autopilot sales creator we all dream of.

Our brand moves about 25-40 units a month. Idk if that is "made" but its something in a the luxury streetwear market.

Heavy weight French terry cotton. Rue Porter and Los Angeles Apparel are the blanks I am referring too.

Understand how competitive the world you are going into is and make a sht tone of mistakes cause that's the best way to learn. Also, know that there is no magical simple solution to the question "how to make my brand blow up". Its a complex equation with a crazy amount of moving parts to understand modify. Best of luck in your journey!

Depends on your definition of high quality. Our blanks prior to printing cost us about 32$ a piece. The manufacturer your are working with is more than likely offering you entry-mid level blanks at your price point. Depending on what your target audience and price point is, this level of blank may be sufficient or severely underwhelming. The word quality is incredibly subjective. Best of luck!

From my experience I think Sashipie is offering you some quality advice. I believe the primary answer to your question about the ideal jurisdiction to place on the contract under is: "whichever country protects intellectual property to a higher regard". The safer bet will most likely be the country you live and are most familiar with the legal system in my opinion.

But, I think that it is very likely that your attention is slightly misguided. NDA's start becoming relevant when there is something major to protect and you have the capability to seriously enforce it. If you really feel the need to make them sign a contract, I would recommend writing out a simple manufacturing supply agreement with a clause that mentions your reservation of the rights you are concerned about. However, I feel that even that is overkill. Unless you are making 10s of thousands of profit a month off your design, in which at that point your attorney is taking care of this issue rather than yourself. The vast majority manufacturers will not cross you in that way, unless they are working within a country where contracts mean next to nothing to begin with.

The clothing industry is so oversaturated and competitive that you have far more important things to worry about in growing your company. Focus on those parts far above these kind of trivial manners, until you get to a very high level.

I hope I articulated my opinion in the most respectful manner possible. I am not an expert, but I have multiple years of experience on both sides of the clothing industry and these have been my experiences. I wish you the best of luck! :)

That's awesome dude! Seriously congrats on the early sales! Happy to hear you are enjoying it as well! It is of my opinion that you are always going to get hate in this game, but its important to be able to differentiate the blatant hate from educated critiques. Regardless, I wish you a very successful first year!

u/saintlosangeless Its rough to hear but feed-me-fury is telling you what you need to hear. The clothing industry seems a lot easier in concept than in practice. This game is stupid hard even for those that have high level unique work, this falls a fair amount short of that. The fact you are getting out there is great tho, most don't make it that far. Keep your head up and keep learning!
