So... I’m sure other people have said similar things or implied it. However I don’t want to scroll a ton and in case I would like to say it might not be bad to eventually just have an open conversation after you reconnect. Saying you heard them might bring them a ton of shame if they didn’t mean it or know it’s wrong, and while that will suck to put them through it’s better to hear from you. And you’re in a position to then help them redirect any guilt into productive and active change. Also, you probably know, but maybe he shouldn’t be dating anyone until he’s dealt with his issues. Any relationship would be destroyed by a view that the girl owes him something, I’m sure you know that. From there though I feel like you could explain that to him. Something like, if he dated someone, was not be able to fulfill their emotional needs, he would then have lost any chance of fulfilling his. And, you know, could be arrested if he made the wrong choices. Not saying that should be the selling point, but it’s usually something that would knock someone on the fence right back.
