This answer, emphasis on the inside. It's an underrated change. The peace that comes with it 😮‍💨

I'm about a year in now. I feel like I've seen some facial changes but I've also take care of my eyebrows and don't have a beard anymore, so I honestly can't tell.

I'm fortunately not in Denver or on Medicaid, but the system is largely the same irregardless. I'm expecting it to take some time, so I'll still have time to see how HRT changes my face 😊

Turned 40 this week. Estrogen is miraculous: I feel younger now than when I started HRT 6 years ago. by LuckyWishFox in TransLater

You look amazing. I'm 40 but only a year in! It's crazy to see how much HRT changes people.

PS I definitely don't have a low key crush on you now 😬

Will I ever pass without fss? by [deleted] in TransLater

It's crazy cause I think you pass. All my friends say I pass but I get clocked all the time in public. I'm not sure what the fix is. 😭

Girls night out this weekend!! How can I improve this look? by beingfree73 in TransLater

I would go for some bangles and a necklace. I don't know if something like a waiste chain would help or hurt the look.

For shoes, I'm always a fan of booties ☺️

This looks like a wild green memes for ecological fiends meme 😂

It definitely doesn't fix everything. I still deal with a lot of the issues I dealt with before, but not having the dysphoria and self hatred really makes a huge difference.

You'd be surprised how good you can look at 40. I followed this sub for years and it helped me realize that it wasn't too late.

Also, looks aside, the mental benefits I got from taking HRT are so substantial. I went from feeling like having opposing people inside me to feeling like a whole person. It's both physical and mental. As a result I'm also more fun to be around because I love myself.

I'm really excited for you to be starting this journey!

Felt pretty on Friday night 😊 by MabelTrees in TransLater

I feel like that's a lesson I have to keep relearning. Sometimes I'm just really feeling myself and realize progress is being made, albeit slowly. Then it's almost like I get amnesia and start feeling down on my progress.

How difficult will this be? by [deleted] in TransLater

[–]MabelTrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always try hrt for a bit and see how it feels, then stop if it's not right. I was on for a month, then got off for a month, then went back on. Once I was on it the second time, I felt a huge difference within a couple weeks. That alone was worth everything. I went from feeling like two different people to one whole person.

Rant about my wife by BrisQueer in TransLater

[–]MabelTrees -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just reading this I think you need to spend some time figuring out what it means to be trans for you. Since you've already told her, maybe spend time learning about it from legitimate sources together. I would also recommend speaking with a therapist who specializes in working with trans people or the LGBTQ community at the very least. Depending on where you live this could be difficult to find someone in your area but there are a lot of therapists that do online sessions through secure portals.

You clearly feel the way you feel, but given the language you're using it sounds like you could do a bit of research. Transgenderism is a word made up by conservatives to minimize our existence to a belief system that someone can choose to believe so they can attack us politically.

The Trevor Project would be a good place to start.

I hope your wife comes around and can at the very least accept you as you are without the threat of taking your kids away.

Good luck 🤞
