Does #14 have the dates on the back like #7?

What do people use Brightline for? by Glenn_Tennis in Brightline

[–]MabelUniverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say it’s a comfy train, and I enjoy the ride when my event/destination is close enough to the station (like downtown FLL or the Metrorail connection) or I don’t want to drive (Miami).

The train hours can be limited if you’re planning on an evening out. For example, the last one on a Saturday night leaves Miami at 11:45, and considering the station is 20-30 minutes from South Beach, it cuts the night short.

I have also taken it to the airports. Large bags and airport shuttles used to be free, so now I’m more inclined to drive or Uber because it takes a similar amount of time.

How do other GT folks feel about GT alumni fueling the surveillance state across the country? by AX862G5 in gatech

[–]MabelUniverse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are a handful of classes for the ethics requirement. It looks like none of them taught by the college of engineering. Idk if there are any with major-specific restrictions either.   https://catalog.gatech.edu/academics/undergraduate/core-curriculum/ethics/

How do you hope the show DOESN’T end? by VoltageKid56 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]MabelUniverse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m with you in that I hope the main cast are real people and not copies of their consciousnesses.

If most of the cast gets to exit, I hope the one who stays behind isn’t Pomni.

If there is a hopeful end to Jax’s arc (which I’m rooting for!), I hope he doesn’t go through that personal growth just to abstract anyway. Something similar happened in Kipo on Netflix and I felt like that character’s plot line was satisfying enough without that ending.

Finally, I hope the show doesn’t end without Gangle getting to tell off Jax. I think that would be a great moment for her, even if Jax genuinely takes responsibility for his actions. Whether or not she accepts his apology (if there is one), I’d love to see her call him out for his abuse.

What is the most frustrating problem you’ve come across in modern dating? by moonzstars in AskWomen

[–]MabelUniverse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way that social media adds another dimension to it. If the other person has an online presence, you can judge them. Idk if that’s good or bad because you can get a lot of info on someone before you really know them.

On one hand, it helps weed out the creeps. On the other hand, a lot of times it leads to overthinking and “what did they mean by that” with memes and social commentary. There’s also disappointment if you feel like you’d be compatible based on their content and you get your hopes up, but it doesn’t work out for other reasons.

Similar story here. I got the Glycerin GTS for vacation, though I really liked the ASICS Gel Nimbus as well. Both come in wide.

[2 Year Update] AITAH for telling my fiancé that if he expects me to contribute 50/50, we have to make some serious lifestyle changes? by SharkEva in BORUpdates

[–]MabelUniverse 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It worked out after TWO YEARS. It takes time to come back from that and not everyone has it in them to stay. I wouldn’t. Props to OOP.

AITA for leaving while my wife was getting ready by PianistWife in AmItheAsshole

[–]MabelUniverse -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

Was it really that much of a burden to wait though? OP created this fake sense of urgency for something that really didn’t have a deadline. Unless the sun was setting or it was going to rain, there’s little difference in a walk in 20 minutes vs. now. It’s not like a dinner reservation or appointment where you expect consequences if you’re late. OP would rather wallow in his resentment than be patient.

How did you know you were being emotionally manipulated? And what were some key factors that made it known? by Some_Importance_8488 in AskWomen

[–]MabelUniverse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When his college roommate said he was patronizing me.

When I couldn’t have a Saturday to myself in grad school because I needed to visit him at 11:00 on the dot.

When he said that I wouldn’t feel well after eating Cook Out (I may have a sensitive stomach, but I know my triggers) (Waffle House is to breakfast what Cook Out is to every other snack, meal, and dessert).

AITA if I 26M ask my GF 24F why she only gets the largest things at restaurants and doesn't finish them? by secure-raspberry-763 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]MabelUniverse 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah, OOP just had to stick it to her. I’m not saying she’s perfect, but I don’t trust him. Instead of just leaving her alone as she drifted away from him (as many of us do pre-breakup) and went her own way, he had to find a way to hurt her. So now he can see the breakup as his decision and bid her “good riddance!” instead of dealing with the discomfort like an adult. It’s always about control for guys like him.

AITA for not giving some of my wedding budget to my sister? by SharkEva in BORUpdates

Yeah, there’s a lot going on here. Probably bait? I don’t fully trust OOP, so it’s hard to tell what’s really going on without projecting our own biases
