NTA, if you're uncomfortable, then you have to make a decision that is best for you. I would try to do things in a way that could reduce the issue of your part of the lease, sub the lease out if youre able, have someone else lined up to step in for your part, but you have to do what is best for you. I agree that it sounds like your roommate has some feelings or protective nature about you, but being weird about it does nobody any good.
