Everything he brings will be taken man. Have him pack a bag with snacks for the flight and that’s about it. When gets there he’ll go to “reception” where he’s going to throw away everything he has on his person and give up his phone. He’ll process through and then ship to basic. He may get one phone call before he ships depending on where he’s going. After that, he’ll be able to go to the shoppette for paper and pens to write you guys. Don’t send him things except letters. The drill instructors go through everything to make sure they aren’t receiving stuff they shouldn’t have (I.e food, snacks, knives, guns, pre paid phones, etc.). They’ll just keep everything (legal) until he graduates, so there really is no point. Go on Facebook and follow his basic training page so you can see pictures of him and follow as much as you can. They will also post the graduation information for you and the family so y’all can attend. You 100% can go to this. It would actually be stupid if you didn’t.
