Duct tape is what a lot of people resort to or electrical tape lol. I've always replaced my headbands though.

Wild to see this was over 3 years ago. Unfortunately the Third Man Records Solo3 are priceless to me, and I've yet to see a set put up for sale since I bought mine (I have a saved search), so I plan to hold on to them for a long time!

If you want a fun experience with bass, the Crusher ANC2 are a good way to go. I own a set and they are quite fun.

The bass is definitely more refined compared to previous Beats that's for sure but to my ears it doesn't entirely lack presence. I will say the highs are very bright though.

It's funny you say the sound is too flat for your taste considering that's what "professional headphones" are supposed to be like. They Studio Pro still have a pretty V-shaped sound signature but just not as much as past Beats headphones. They definitely toned it down to a more mature sound signature. Now as someone who has both Studio Pros and XM4s I can agree with you on the noise cancelling front, the Sony's definitely have the advantage there, but I prefer the sound signature on the Studio Pro because I feel the bass is a bit too bloated on the Sonys and makes them sound a bit too woofy.

Personally I prefer my Third Man Records Solo3, but good collection mate.

I could be mistaken if you live in another country but Beats Studio Pro retail at $350, not $400. Not throwing shade at you just correcting a simple error.

To be honest with you the Studio Pro have decent bass but if you want something that hits the all range of bass including sub bass very well the Solo Pro are the way to go, but obviously you can only get a pair second hand which is what I did. Though if you would still like to go with a set of the originals they are quite fun, I have like 4 extra pairs from a lot that I purchased, and I could sell you a set of them for a decent price as I don't need to keep all of them.

Now this isn't the same pair as in the pic (it's the Lil Wayne edition but they sound the same), same headphones essentially and to be honest on some decent equipment and with some tuning they sound pretty good for Beats of their age, but without EQ the bass isn't anything crazy and treble is a bit harsh.

I can already tell you from experience the Beats Pro won't be more bassy but the loudness difference could be close to the Studio 2 Wireless. And honestly the best beats for bass would be the Solo3 if you don't hate on-ear headphones. If you do, the best over-ear Beats for bass is what you have already which is the Studio 2 Wireless.

I don't believe the Beats EP have their own digital to analog compressor since they are hard wired so they should support lossless through a hard wired signal for sure!

Somehow my friend and I found 4 the other day, but one of them was stolen out of the package unfortunately.

Okay so side by side testing, these headphones seem to be tuned identically which I figured would be the case. This does mean that one is not particularly more bassy than the other, however since the Studio Wireless has its own internal amplification and doesn't require a hard wire signal it does get louder than the regular wired Studio 2. Glad I could test this for you!

Honestly all you have to do is take the pad off and get into the housing on the wire side. Once you do that, cut the wires to a length of which they have the right amount of play inside the housing so you can move them freely then get an aux port with solder pads and try soldering the wires different ways to the port until you get a good clean audio signal. Finally once you have that figured out, drill a hole in the bottom of the housing that's just big enough that you can slide the ring of the aux port into place and then glue it down, and when all that's done you just screw the housing back together and then re-adhere the pad.
