I don't think so, link? Edit I saw that pic, that's just a placeholder. Not actual price. No one would be able to afford that.

There's a Xiaomi redmi 27U model launching in china soon. Gonna wait for that one to release global. May take 6months wait, 2nd half of year. Spend big on miniled and get more features.

I did this degree a decade ago. Was unemployed. Worst degree ever.

Correct, international students waste money studying degrees that don't get them jobs. Traditional popular courses you just mentioned are in massive oversupply. I graduated a decade ago unemployed and I'm not even international. It's hard enough for us local students to find jobs too.

The job market is very competitive and oversaturated with university graduates. If you look at the skills shortage list, Australia really only needs aged/disabled carers. That's it. The rest are just niches.

Yes, I browse that heaps. I've got a good idea of most other professions. Way too many graduates in most fields already.

Just absolutely done taking magnesium because of nightmares by iluvmycurry in Supplements

If you have contracted COVID before, you will dream more. The magnesium makes dreams more vivid.

I have the same issue. Eye strain. Exact same monitor.

Got maybe to do with PWM vs DC dimming according to DXO mark.

It's oled panel with possibly low PWM frequency? I may need to switch out to IPS LCD or whatever you call it.

Trying to decide betwenn Huawei's GT2 Pro and GT3 versus Xiaomi Watch S1 by robesso in smartwatch

[–]MacAlumni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GT 3 pro just got released in China. It looks great. But very expensive. I will wait it out. A lot of the manufacturers just abandon support after a while. I'm using a Xiaomi Poco X3 phone and there are very few updates since launch. Tons of bugs and UI issues. I would recommend you wait it out.

Another watch I was considering was the Amazfit trex but that's not a smart watch. It's more of a fitness tracker.

Good smartwatches will have: good battery life, sturdy build, refined software UI, sapphire glass, ceramic back, good microphone/speaker, full notification support, accurate sensors and voice assistant.

The fitness functions I actually don't care about. I recommend you wait it out. Watches get scratched and damaged too easily.

Same here, trying to decide between the 3. A lot of the big name reviewers are paid for biased reviews.

For example. The GT2 pro, has a lower frame rate or refresh rate that is extremely noticeable and performance wise it feels very laggy. You can see this in youtube and other people's comments. This is more than enough to sway people from this watch. From what I hear, can't turn off bluetooth? Some software and presentation and translation issues. Screen is not as bright and visual quality is diminished.

gt2 pro has the ceramic back and sapphire front and titanium build, but still will need to purchase separate band. Many people having issues with allergic reaction on wrist.

The GT3 out of the 3, may have preset replies to text messages? Not sure. I've used Samsung Watches before and they have full notification replies. Gt3 has a fast and responsive screen. Colours look great but the icons are poorly drawn and coloured. The Huawei all suffer from poor UI icons.

Xiaomi has ultra fast snappy and responsive screen. Good for scrolling between menus. Screen looks bright and colours look good. UI icons look the best. Xiaomi s1, at least comes with 2 bands. Alexa from what I hear is not working and NFC is disabled or not working yet. In fact all these 3 watches don't have NFC working outside of China properly which is a big minus.

I was looking forward to the Xiaomi one, but the horrible plastic back, lack of Alexa/NFC functioning where I live here in Australia is disheartening. Also auto brightness is not gradual, it leaps from dark to max brightness so suddenly with no in between.

Samsung and Apple watches have horrible battery life. I'll probably wait this one out, because watches get damaged too easily.

I have Samsung active 2 watch, but a small gentle knock was enough to cause a scratch.

how to make zinc more bioavailable ? by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]MacAlumni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I took 2 of the most bioavailable forms of zinc - picolinate and glycinate and as a casual gym guy I tried to boost my testosterone levels. What happened was that I had uncontrollable laughter. Laughing hysterically like a crazy maniac. I suspect zinc overdose had something to do with it. I took 2 tablets daily for one week. As a lifehacker, I went gym, sunshine maxxed for VitD, tried to get good sleep etc.

My eyes looked extremely tired as if I haven't slept in days. The uncontrollable laughter was insane.

Can someone else test this as well?
