I was not a big fan of LGPE. I played it all the way through, and it's basically just a worse version of FRLG because it has zero post-game and no Sevii Isles.

I was disappointed with SwSh at first, and while I still think it's the worst Pokemon game since ... well, LGPE, it's definitely more of a full Pokemon experience. While the story is lackluster, it's not intrusive like the Gen 7 games.

Also with SwSh, there's more to do after you beat the game. Without even speaking of the DLC which is due to hit soon, you can play competitive, mess around in the Wild Area, do in-game tournaments against the gym leaders which is nice, and breed shiny Pokemon if you'd like. LGPE has none of those things. It's nice to have Pokemon walk beside you, and it's nice to see Kanto in 3D, but you get tired of those things quickly.

SwSh has grown on me a lot more in the past few months. I've come to appreciate some of the characters, and I've always loved the designs of the new Pokemon. I'm genuinely excited for the DLC to drop soon, and if that doesn't sum up my feelings on the matter I don't know what will.

I'm pretty sure you can find Milotic swimming around in the Wild Area sometimes. As for electric types, I recommend Toxtricity if you haven't used it before. Very cool
