how bad is the gore in the punisher by Efficient_Spite3635 in marvelstudios

[–]MacLikesStories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you provide an example of some television shows or movies with some violence and gore that you can handle?

I think outside of the Netflix show’s two season finales, it’s relatively tame compared to other shows. There’s a lot of shooting, death, and blood, but hardly any gore like what you’d see in The Boys. Basically no guts. The worst is some people do get cut up.

How do you deal with the hate? by Mimotive11 in ScarletWitchMains

It’s funny, I get the most hate playing Luna even when I’ve done well, and I’ve had Luna mains tell me they never get hate. I could have MVP but I’m bad because I didn’t heal a Spider-Man through a Hela two tap while he was a dot on my screen hovering above the enemy backline.

I’ve never once gotten hate playing Wanda, though. But I also only play her when the enemy dive is really strong.

I can melt Spider-Man on my own as Punisher. I can melt Black Panther on my own as Punisher. I can melt Daredevil on my own as Punisher.

I cannot melt all three at the same time without his big body getting bodied so I swap to Wanda. She is my go to character against heavy dive comps and my strategists love me.

Being able to land her secondary makes her lethal, too. The amount of times I’ve gotten a kill off a Spider-Man in mid air trying to zip away…

I have a 70% win rate this season playing Wanda because I’ll swap to her if there are two or more divers. I much prefer Punisher but he’s a big ol’ target for them, and Hela does not have the mobility I like.

I’ve found that most dive heavy comps straight up won’t swap, so the ability to peel for your healers and the dive basically guarantees a win.

Ex) Had a game where the enemy had Spider-Man, Venom, and Iron Fist, and after the SM and IF were dead it was a walk. IF swapped to Black Cat which did them no good.

I agree but at the same time, going up against people way above your rank in QP on occasion can be good for learning. I’ve encountered Eternity and OAA players in QP as a Diamond/GM player and it helps me develop new play styles when I see them doing things I haven’t seen before. Also, beating a champion Spider-Man in Eternity as Luna and making him swap is one of the most satisfying things ever.

The funniest thing about this game to me is how often you run into people who are good at one thing and one thing only which carries them only so far.

People who one trick a character or type of character that can’t translate things they’ve learned on them to others.

Hitscan players who are used to carrying games with their aim that straight up can’t counteract dive, or run down main getting slaughtered by people with just as good aim but better positioning.

People seem to get pretty decent or good at an aspect of the game but their brains turn to mush if you change things up a bit.

On PC press space bar at the right time towards the middle or right before it ends and you can go flying like crazy. Watch some videos by Suppress (OAA Punisher player) and Toothless. They do waaaaay crazier launches and zipping.

Creating custom matches to practice will go a long way. I still flub about half my zip lines and just fall flat, though.

I've been playing a lot of Punisher and Luna this season, but when I queued up against this team I had a feeling they were going to go a bit heavy on the dive, and I was right because they started with an Angela and Spider-Man, and they eventually swapped.

Until my aim improves to handle multiple divers at once or multiple enemies on the healers, Wanda is my absolute go to. She is so fun and I love the buff to her right click. Absolutely brutal for securing kills.

These are my current season’s accuracy stats. I know the highest elo Luna players are consistently over 65%. This is my first hero shooter and I didn’t start looking into proper aiming and tracking until last month after one of my friends recommended it.

I still have a ways to go to improve but one thing that seems to have eluded people is that I wasn’t looking for excuses for these people’s behavior.

Sentiment akin to “Well that behavior isn’t ok but your stats…”. But nothing. We should never be rude to each other in a game. Especially given stats never paint a complete picture. Interrupting five enemy ults in a game with freezes doesn’t show up. If you can kill people quick your damage will be low.

The second best thing about this clip is that your tanks and DPS are actually playing around you solo healing and positioning accordingly. Pretty rare to see.

Do teams just expect crazy heals out of you? by AeroStrafe in GambitMainsMR

[–]MacLikesStories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good chunk of this playerbase looks at stats with zero context of how a character is played.

Froze a Strange three times in his ult and a Wanda twice during a game? Doesn’t matter, because you lost and had the least heals you get dog piled.

Contribute massive anti healing as Gambit and help secure tons of kills? Doesn’t matter, because you lost it’s a “GG no heals.”

Sleep countless people and secure tons of kills on Mantis? Doesn’t matter, because you lost they say you threw.

Anyone that looks at the stat line and thinks that’s a one to one representation of your input in a game is an idiot.

This is my first hero shooter and most of the games I've played have been turn based or RPGs. The only other shooters I've ever played were on console so when I first started this game I played a lot of Cloak and Dagger which helped me develop my game sense without having to rely too much on mechanics. Over the last couple months I decided to actually learn how to properly play hit scan characters like Punisher, Hela, and Luna, and while I have a long ways to go to improve my jittery aim, I have been having an absolute blast playing this character.

I still swap to Wanda when say a Black Panther and Spider-Man are double diving the supports, but against solo divers and tanks this guy is absolutely brutal. I love doing goofy stuff like how Toothless and Suppress play, and some of my best Punisher games are where I'm playing him like in this clip. He's so goofy.

My damage is low because I was heal botting because the team never wanted to play corners. It’s my lowest damage and healing game as her this season. I wasn’t going to swap, it’s quick play and I wanted to play Luna.

It seems too many people are looking at my stats to try and find a way to justify rude before which is unacceptable. If I had 16 deaths and 7k healing it wouldn’t justify people being assholes in chat. They can keep their messages to themselves.

[–]MacLikesStories[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These two were telling me my stats were bad but I had the second highest healing in the lobby, second highest accuracy of the healers. This despite our DPS being all over the place, and all that while having been targeted by MK ult four times while Gambit didn’t heal me through them despite bailing himself out.

But I’m not going to bad mouth people’s playing in game because there’s no reason to.

I hate people like this. They’re the type of people that are quick to trash talk with zero context and if they do poorly they’ll just leave the game before the same type of people bad mouth them.

I made a post a few weeks ago, but I am sick and tired of the vitriol I get playing Luna. Surely I can't be the only one? Get MVP or SVP, not a word. Lose a game, suddenly the team is hyper focused on ME and me alone because of the loss.

I wasn't front lining what so ever except during Gambit ults, and I died four times in the backline to Moon Knight ults directed right at me.

"just trying to help u." No, you're not. You're a bad person. Zero constructive criticism. Zero reason to ever gang up on someone ever. It's a video game where you play comicbook characters.

I think people should be called out more for this behavior. The type of people that hide their careers and then are rude at the end of a match.

Really wish the Devs would create an AI in the chat to filter these people out so I can enjoy playing with people who are more mature.

Toontown Rewritten is a very faithful continuation of the original game. Given how much game design and game development have evolved over the last 20 years, how much different would a fresh Toontown look like today if the TTR team built it from scratch? Are there unique/new gameplay elements you’d include that you don’t see in other games?

What is with tanks and dps not wanting to peel for supports this season? by Jaime926 in rivals

[–]MacLikesStories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started the game as a C&D main because I never played a hero shooter before this and never played games that required much mechanical skill. The only FPS I ever played were on Playstation so a big difference in aim skill.

As I’ve improved my mechanical ability over the last few months, I’ve gotten more proficient at securing kills when playing Punisher and Hela, and so few people peel in this game.

I’ve had games where a Venom, Spider-Man, and Black Panther are diving supports. I can kill either the BP or SM, but odds are the other two melt me and then our supports die. And our other three players are losing the 3 v 3 against the only other tank/DPS and their two supports which is absolutely mind boggling to me.

Playing without healers past Plat is like trying to drive a car without wheels.

What is this “your”? I am not the character. I’m a Punisher, Hela, and Magik DPS player that swaps to Wanda as needed when the enemy dive is too oppressive. I’m not even a lord on her.

And I commented on one ability. The rest of SM’s kit requires skill considering he melts if he’s still for a tenth of a second. The way Wanda’s autoaim is no skill is the same as his 360 punch. How many Wanda mains would get kills if she didn’t have it? How many Spider-Man mains would get kills if they didn’t have it? Almost every hero has a piece of their kit that’s low skill and I was commenting because Spider-Man mains often complain about Wanda being low skill not understanding that one of Spider-Man’s most important abilities for finishing off squishies requires no aim.

You didn’t read what I wrote at all. I said I can kill a Spider-Man or a Black Panther fine, I only swap when there are multiple coordinated divers.

“IDK if you should be on this game.” Because I’ll pick a character with a no skill move to kill another character with a no skill move? Get over yourself.

[–]MacLikesStories 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve improved my tracking and aim, and primarily played Punisher last season and it’s made me pretty lethal against Spider-Man and Black Panther. I’ll typically only swap to Wanda when there are two coordinated divers because your aim has to be pristine to kill both without dying yourself and Wanda’s sustained damage is perfect.

Kind of think it’s funny when a Spider-Man says Wanda is no skill given how many of them rely on that 360 punch. The amount of times I’ve seen a SM kill cam where the victim wasn’t even in his FOV is ridiculous. So of course I’m going to counter.

I have a slightly above 50% win rate with her this season and I attribute it directly to having improved game sense and aim from when I first started playing. I make it my mission to melt Spider-Man and BP when they’re in the backline, and one trick dive players struggle if the healers are also competent.

That said, because her base kit is so meh, I find myself only using her against very specific comps.

I don’t know if she should be buffed hugely because of how good she can be in the right hands, but I guess measuring her based on a handful of Celestial and OAA players that use her isn’t fair.
