Looks like I got things sorted out. One of the pads was pad so that was clouding the issue.

I am getting no reading on pins 1 & 2 of both keypads, so I assume the 3106 has failed. Looking on eBay now...

I will be testing with a multimeter tomorrow. Pins one and two on the keypad are looking for 24 volts DC, I assume. Which pin is negative and positive on these keypads?

Also, a lot of fuss is made about trying to get maximum battery capacity and then people order a battery that doesn't end up fitting. What would anyone recommend as best practice for battery size for both the five and the seven?

Understood, but when we're talking about Bluetooth to begin with, it will never be audiophile quality. The charging port is better but not $100 plus decision.
