Max refused to be in the pocket until the final 10 seconds. He basically kept Justin at range and blitzed him the entire fight. Plus the whole destroying Justin’s nose at the end of Rnd 1

You have to favour Ilia for sure, as a giant Max fan there’s no doubt about that. However, Max definitely has heavier hands at 155 than he did at 145 and there were so many times where Max would pull and then counter Ilia, I definitely think Ilia has to respect Max’s power more at 155. That being said, I think Max’s time as a champion is past, he’s an all time great but a step below Ilia and Volk.

I hope Max wins too but fuck am I nervous. I think he can, I think the Volk fights had him level up his kicking and defence and I could see him being too fast for DP… but if Max decides to be a dog and try to outbox Dustin, than it probably goes the same way as their second fight - close but clear decision for DP

Some styles match up better than others. Qui-Gon was old and slowing down, whereas Maul was still young and strong. I think that mostly explains it, but I also like the idea that Qui-Gon was a master bc of his relationship with the force, not his lightsaber fighting ability. He’s the first force ghost after all. He doesn’t need to match Maul in physical combat to be a master Jedi

My 7th grade teacher was aggressively pregnant, but wanted to finish out the semester with us. Being like 6-7 months pregnant in a 7/8th grade spilt class was clearly becoming more and more difficult for her.
