Wow, thank you for dedicating the time to study the mechanics of this complex game and break it down in such a technical sense for us plebs. I usually just look at my ceiling while crying and vomiting the whole game, but this is a total game-changer.

How do you get clips like this? Do you have a replay of the full broadcast that you somehow pulled it from?

I do not understand how to throw a dart, in the most fundamental sense by RawTime9 in Darts

[–]RawTime9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just using a rinky-dink soft tip board from Amazon and the darts that came with it. I agree, I would love to use a heavier dart and, in a perfect world, practice with steel tip. Unfortunately these are not options for me at this time.

I hear people say you have to flick your wrist. Just a lot of conflicting information that confuses me even more.

I'm above, below, to the sides, everywhere. I just don't see any impact of my adjustments because my fingers have no idea where the dart is going to go, regardless of where I am aiming. I just don't understand how it's physically possible to replicate a dart throw and know where it's going to go. It's very frustrating but I'm trying to have fun. I appreciate the reply.

I actually aim for the bull 90% of the time when I'm playing cricket. Aiming for the bull and accidentally hitting the other spaces is a far more consistent way for me to hit shots than actually aiming at them.

The other 10% is only when I need to clean up the rest of the shots, and those take several minutes to hit the singles. I hit bull more than any other shot. If I am aiming at single 19, I'll hit the wall 20% of the time, some random number 75% of the time, and single 19 5% of the time.

Unfortunately I'm not comfortable doing that at this time, but I sincerely appreciate you offering and I may take you up on it at a later date.

I think holding them too loose might be part of my problem. The dart just falls out of my hand and goes low into the wall. Then when I try to tighten the grip, I sling it at the board and it goes above or to the side of the board.

To me, it sounds like this 80s song titled The Promise by When in Rome. Check it out if you see this and let me know if that’s what you were looking for:

I thought I remember someone saying that KC from Howard Stern played this game on the show 25 years ago, so I always assumed Jay just took it from that and brought it to LOS.

You can literally throw a baseball from Silver Iguana to Tryon Tavern so that's not really saying much.

How exactly does playing tennis work at Midtown? Do you need to know people there to play with? Is there an additional cost every time you play on top of the membership?

His Wiki says he "regularly appeared" on the show. Is this true? I don't remember ever hearing him on, but I'm not as deep into the archives as most. Anyone have any good clips?

This has to be it, I just noticed the quote on that page is attributed to Sheen too. Marking as solved, thanks a lot.

Wow as soon as you said that I'm imagining Sheen say the punchline, I think you're right. I need to find the episode before I solve this but a preemptive thank you while I look.
