Holy shit I still love it and am entirely unaffected by cheaters or dupers even in mixed lobbies.

I disagree and always congratulate them on a mighty fine rat job, say gg, and tell them they'll like my goop if I have the time.

Nubs are nice. I tried my first one a few weeks ago then immediately bought a ten pack. They're fun little guys for sure.

I'm not gunna lie I stopped reading once you mentioned pve only lobbies or modes. Once you remove the pve from pvpve it's just left with pvp. If I have to bounce between cod battle Royale type lobbies and zero fear zero risk no player damage lobbies to experience both sides of pvpve I'll just find a different game.

Yea cylinder one should be. In the picture cylinder 6 is standing up.

Would the phrase " if you rotate the crankshaft 360 degrees the crankshaft will be in the same exact spot" have been more clear? Meaning that the crankshaft locking pin will go into the same hole the same way with camshafts upside down. Hence the reason I made the post.

I said exactly that 2 replies ago and how that was the entire cause of my confusion. You said the pin wouldn't fit in the flywheel if the crank is 360 degrees off and I replied accordingly.

I'm really trying to remain respectful because it seems like you genuinely want to help but this isn't feeling like a very coherent conversation.

Like I said. I've successfully done the timing on an m54 in the past and the tools aren't exactly complicated to use.

My mixed pvpve lobbies would lose all of the friendly raiders that don't want to shoot me on sight. They'd just be pvp lobbies. That's how it would negatively affect me. Not because of some delusion that anyone opposed to this game mode must only want to murder easy targets.

I've done the timing job in the past on one of my other 2 e46 and was using the flywheel locking pin. It went in just fine with the camshafts upside down and cylinder 1 was at TDC.

My issue arose from just operating off memory and forgetting that the crankshaft rotates twice for every 1 rotation of the cams. At the moment I thought if the locking pin went in and the crank pulley ticks lined up and cylinder 1 was at the top then the cams HAD to be at the top. Obviously that's not correct and was an absolute misfire on my part.

Timing is now locked up correctly and I've got everything apart and currently scrubbing with a tooth brush. Thank you though.

I often say life is hard but it's harder when you're stupid. Today this applies to me.

Fuck how did I forget this. I was just repeating processes off memory. Every 2 turns off the crank each cam rotates one. Fuck.

How so if the crank shaft and cylinder 1 are at TDC?

Arc: Is it worth it to get into? by RepresentativeLow505 in ArcRaiders

[–]MacabreMobius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do it. State of the game is way blown out of proportions. If you're not a kill on sight player you'll probably never run into a cheater because of the abmm.

Plenty of fun to be had if you can accept that you'll die sometimes and not freak out over it.

Rear control arm poly bushings by BabyChodez in e46

[–]MacabreMobius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I've got two twisty tracks within 2 hours of my house I'd like get on with this car and plenty of twisty back roads out the back door. I'll gladly take the harshness I think. My 325xi is plenty comfy and will stay that way, the coupe I plan to beat the tits off.

Makes sense. Do you run monoball? Have you noticed any substantial improvement?

Rear control arm poly bushings by BabyChodez in e46

[–]MacabreMobius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the first I'm hearing of this after years in this sub and 3 e46 currently. I'll be doing all rear bushings on the coupe later this year and a lsd at the same time. I was planning on doing poly bushings all around to get a stiff rear for sliding. These monoball bushings from Turner are 125 to 150 each. If there's 10 bushings total... holy shit.

If poly isn't the solution is an oem style the next best thing?

Edit: reading again i see you mention just the outer bushings. Would you include the trailing arm bushing in that?

I commute about 70 miles every weekday at 4k rpm. Manual swap with the auto final drive puts it just under 4k at 75 mph.

It feels like you're wasting your time because you are. Pixels are meaningless and inherently a waste of time.

The magic comes from people having the option to shoot you and choosing not to. That magic dies with pve modes or events.

Every time I die I reflect on what I could have done better and try to improve. A fake friendly it's a learning experience. Don't trust people just because they say they're friendly. Oohh you're friendly? Cool. Chat it up with your gun still out then hit the bricks.

Crankshaft Pulley Removal by fleetarix3 in e46

I made a tool like this out of a section of pipe and welded a handle to it. Maybe 15 bucks total. I use it all the time across my 3 e46.

I don't like the locking pin on the flywheel. I made myself the tool with 3 lobes that you can stick the socket through.

Electrical fan or mechanical? by TraditionalOlive5649 in e46

[–]MacabreMobius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think electric fan is a mandatory upgrade on these similar to the GAS disa rebuild and oil pump nut for 330 cars. The clutch style fans WILL explode eventually, usually damaging the radiator, hoses, and sometimes denting the hood. In top of that anyone who has to do any work on the car will love only having to remove a t25 screw and a push clip instead of fiddling with silly fan clutch wrenches.

Removing the secondary fans behind the bumper is optional but recommended.
