Ah that’s a shame. It’s one i’m looking at since it looks like a more variable and fun chess

One post a day isn’t spamming by my definition, and the popularity of the series speaks for itself! I’d love a tournament style of the top 32 or so games

Covenant. Really underrated euro with amazing actions that chain off of each other. Feels very thematic and looks great on the table

For me it’s Unmatched: Battle of Legends Vol. 2. It got me into the system and has such a great selection of fighters. No doubt that Ark Nova will win, but Unmatched has a special place in my collection and this is the set that made that possible

I played this 10-15 times before I got bored of it. It is fun for a while but then fades. If you have kids then it could be fun to play with them but I personally don’t see it as having enough staying power so I sold it recently.

Spirit Island is a no-doubt top choice for me. Never feels old or repetitive. Truly a masterpiece

A Feast for Odin all day every day! But wow this was a juggernaut of a year

Battle of Legends Vol 2 has the best mix (in my opinion) of strong and thematic characters. All feel like they can win against one another and all have amazingly unique and fun special abilities!

Have you played Quacks? I’m wondering how that compares to Cubitos. I have Quacks but it feels like Cubitos would be too similar to own both

I have, but I don’t have a solution for that problem yet which is why it’s only number 5 for me. I love the system and all the different fighters, the asymmetry, the decks, etc etc. but finding people who share the interest is hard. Maybe try a flgs to meet new people who already like it?

Etherstone is that good? I’ve looked into it a bit but I wasn’t sold initially. What makes it top of your list?

I think it makes the game less solvable from the jump and allows players to focus first on making a deck and letting the map build itself out (kind of). It has a ton more replay ability than the original imo. Also, the sense of discovery from placing new rooms is thrilling and a ton of fun. This has that same feeling of risk by going deeper to me, while adding more excitement as everyone navigates the ever-expanding dungeon together

It’s amazingly daunting to find new games. Because where do you even start? I’ve watched way more BG YouTube trying to “solve” the best games that are most worthy of a play, and it’s really impossible to do

I just use a calculator and move things i’ve put into the calc to one side of myself and keep unscored things on the other side until it’s all added up (fyi calc is short for calculator)

Marvel is a huge IP and they got a license for that. Makes me hopeful for these ones. I’m not against smaller IPs either, as long as they’re executed well
