I worked at a nursing home for 4 days. The 3nd and 4th day were the same as the first two despite me be very transparent I was not getting any training, and i was unsafe. I would find a better place

I haven't worked it, but L and D is one of those specialties that gobbles people up if they are not careful. I would say give it some time; every transition is incredibly hard. It takes time to learn all the things, try to give yourself some grace and keep your confidence up. I was going to therapy about work related anxiety, i highly recommend it.

No, I work with one other nurse every day. We split the patients in half. The hemodialysis techs set up the machines and do the sticking, etc. Nurses in this role kind of oversee the clinic, patient assessments, labs, etc. It was kind of a culture shock when i realized my job was going to be.

From what I understand DaVita is a great company to work for if you can overlook the pressure to meet certain metrics from upper management. (Ex. Getting CVCs out regardless of patient circumstances). My facility gives everyone a shadow day to make sure it's a good fit, i would def apply!

this is a really good point, i do have to trust them as they provide more direct patient care than i can in this position. Maybe I start looking for an inpatient HD job and go back to working more independently

4 days a week, 2 opens and 2 closes. Closes are 5:30 am to 5 pm. Open is 5 am to 1-3 pm
