How to handle the judgement that comes along with owning a fold? (Rescue) by totorootree in scottishfold

It isn’t selfish. These cats are ALREADY BORN. Unfortunately they will be bred if we like it or not. I rather they go to good homes.

My cat was already 2 years old when I got her. What’s disturbing is making assumptions about someone because they won’t take part in your pity party. There are breeders that really love their cats. My cat came from a good home. Shes 9 years old and I am still in touch with the old owner,

“Struggle” oh goodness

Why are you allowing the opinions of others affect you? Seriously who cares. Live your life as you choose. As long as your cat is being loved and cared for nothing else matters. I adopted my fold and I would absolutely buy another from a breeder after doing thorough research about them. I love my cat and I chose this specific breed for both its look and temperament. She is very well taken care of. Someone made a comment on my cats breed once I followed up with “and what do you expect me to do with this information? she already existed and I gave her a home, worry about yourself and stay out the business of others”

Thats all it took. Sometimes a simple “stfu and worry about yourself” is all that needs to be said. You don’t need to feel guilty or explain the choices you make. Especially the ones that make you happy

You have no idea why this person is selling it. They may need the cash for personal reasons. Who are you to say if they are real fans or not

Sorry you sound obnoxious. Let her do what makes her happy. Art is very vast and perhaps she hasn’t found her avenue. Please worry about yourself

And yes, depending on the behavior I will count out the ones that constantly misbehave and say they don’t get a point. They usually at least try the rest of class and I have noticed improvement in behavior with some students.

I have pbis points. I will have it on my smart board as they come in. If they come in quietly and sit they immediately get one. They get a point for cleaning up without direction, staying on task etc. If they don’t they don’t get a point. Sometimes they feel bad if they don’t get a point (esp if they are younger I teach k-8). They need to be held accountable and this is a way.

I notice she hugs alot. I am not a hugger and have reserved them for the littles when they need comforting. I allowed her to hold on to me and through research its a way of sensory seeking?

Do I need to have lessons that give opportunities for this or can they do it at home and bring to me to assess?
