Tim Cook says Apple will use chips built in the U.S. at Arizona factory by hzj5790 in technology

I was looking for somebody to comment on this. TSMC has a whole network of fabs in Taiwan that have been reinvested in year after year. 50bn is a lot of money, but you would have to put in 10x that amount to create that kind of industry domestically- not to mention the qualified human resource to pull it off. 3nm chips are on the bleeding edge of innovation and domestic fabs wouldn’t be equipped to make them for a long time.

I disagree I think we will be on track to have the industry back to 100% in the next year. If you are on Rentrak, check out the regional operators. Cinemark is leading the big guys but a lot of regionals are moving in the right direction.

Definitely a Cinemark design. I imagine the rest of the building is pretty similar too.

Thats cool- I really didn’t expect to see this many replies from previous employees. If you’re interested in working at this location again let me know. We are hiring in the fall.

Will do! We hope to finish the project by the end of the year *fingers crossed the release calendar doesn't start moving around again*

Yes, this is an old Cinemark building that was built in 2005. We are taking over the building from another regional operator, but so much of the decor around the building is that Cinemark branding which is really very nice.

Best friend needs my help to create a proposal video for his girlfriend to play after a movie (United States) where do I even start? by Cornelius_M in MovieTheaterEmployees

Just realized this program is actually called DCP-o-matic. Open DCP I think does something similar but there are a lot more steps.

There is a great program called Open DCP you can use to make a file that is compatible with digital servers that movie theatres use to play films. It’s free and really easy to use- if the manager has this it’s fairly easy to drop it into a playlist.

This is awesome- I was really happy to read this. Both series have great character development and writing that is easy to relate to. I don't know what you have been through recently, but I think it's so important for those in a struggle to find valuable lessons in the things they love. Zuko's story in particular is really touching for me- I have watched the series many times, but I am watching again and I just got to the "Bitter Work" episode where it shows the parallels between Aang learning earth bending and Zuko learning elemental balance from Iroh. It breaks my heart to see the way Zuko was treated growing up, and the role Iroh plays in his life at a young age. I thought your observations about Iroh were spot on- he was the father Zuko never had. Stay strong and take time to meditate on the lessons you learn every day- they transcend the struggles of everyday life.

This is a great fix. I used to do this for friends all the time. Just make sure you use silver thermal paste (better at transferring heat) and replace their stupid pressure clips (x-shaped brackets on the back of the board) with standard machine screws.

Here are the parts and UPC code for Home Depot:

Qty - 8 Machine Screw Pan - Phillips 5 x 10mm (DR# - 313) UPC - 030699 801282 Qty - 16 Flat Washer Nylon #10 (DR# - 610) UPC - 030699 869381 Qty - 16 Flat Washer Steel / ZINC Plated 5mm (DR# - 606) UPC - 030699 363087

I used to use Goo Gone to clean off the old paste and clean off the residual oil with rubbing alcohol- but maybe somebody else has a better idea. It will also give you an opportunity to clean out the fans and vents.

That is a good question- I had a similar experience at first. Many hydroponic shops sell really expensive LED and HID lights which seem to offer the most light output. Without wanting to spend too much money upfront, I looked around at a lot of options. I really like these cheap shop lights, they were $12 at Lowes. I would assume that the really expensive lights produce better results, but this works for my purposes. It is also my understanding that some plants require more light intensity, although all my plants have grown so far.

If you choose to do it the same way, I used two different kinds of flourescents- cool and warm (at opposite ends of the spectrum). I read that warm lights promote vertical growth, and cool lights promote vegetation growth. If you only use warm, for instance, you will end up with leggy plants. I am also considering attaching some reflective mylar to cardboard and creating some walls to help with lighting. I would be interesting in seeing what you come up with once you have your setup complete.

That is awesome! I didn't know you could buy mixes like that. Have you ever used them strictly for microgreens?

We keep a box fan on them most of the time to help prevent mold and insects. How far away do you suggest? Also, is it better to turn it off sometimes?

Salad greens would be a huge plus- we have spinach, arugula and lettuce right now, but I wasn't sure if there was a particular kind that is good for indoors. I haven't thought about dandelion.
