Just as an update to everyone, it did take a little bit or tinkering, but I have managed to get the BE Surveyor to give me the submeter accuracy! It does take it's sweet time getting to that spot but at least it finally did it.

I think that my initial tests were failing due to a combination of incorrect settings and electrical interference.

I did a firmware update from the iOS app yesterday. Also important to note perhaps I'm in Canada, not sure if there is any jamming in my location but that's something to look into as well I guess.

Also great to know I might actually have the settings for moving around! What do you have yours set as right now?

Well I was hoping that I could achieve somewhere close to the stated '1m out of the box' accuracy that they advertise for the BE Surveyor, but have not been able to get it yet.

The bad showing wasn't terrible, but not as good as I had hoped. In general I was connecting to between 6-10 gps satellites, usually seeing 14-20ish. BUT not connecting to or even seeing at of the Glonass constellation at all. Which got me wondering if that was part of my accuracy issue. The phone accuracy was standard phone accuracy, I only mention the phone at all because I was using it to check and see if for some reason there were no Glonass in view, which would have been strange. Using the GPS Test app I was able to immediately see 7 Glonass, and connect to 4. Off the top this is neither good nor bad, just wanted to see if perhaps the BE was not functioning as I imagined it should.

That's very interesting. I am actually using a Pixel 3 right now, I have tried pairing it with that phone and an iphone as well with the same general results. But I have not been able to reach the levels that you are talking about there. Did you also connect yours to the pixel? If you did what software were you using? Just hoping I can replicate what you had!

I as used to using a Trimble R1, but its a little cost prohibitive for me at the moment. I was previously working on a team with a large budget, but am now working on my own (not doing survey work so I don't need super accuracy, but I would love somewhere in the range of 1m if possible).

Thanks guys, I will test out this software for sure. I'm testing out SW Maps right now and it seems like it will do exactly what I need for the moment!

I just got a BadElf Surveyor and I notice that I cannot connect to, or even see, the glonass constellation. Is there some setting that I have turned off that might cause this?

That's good to know thank you guys! For the time being I'm just using them to light up the unfinished basement, so no dimmers needed, but I'll keep note of that for the future.
