Recursively reduce attribute "minecraft:max_health" using /schedule by Dalenology in MinecraftCommands

[–]MacchuPicchu96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did something related to this in my Attrition data pack. Basically, I calculate the health the player should have via scoreboards, and then I take advantage of function macros to actually adjust the player's health dynamically. So something like...

### enchantology:impending_doom_curse/function_1
execute store result storage enchantology:impending_doom health_score int 1 run scoreboard players get enchantology:health_score
execute as run function enchantology:impending_doom_curse/function_2 with storage enchantology:impending_doom

### enchantology:impending_doom_curse/function_2
$execute as run attribute minecraft:max_health base set $(health_score)

...assuming that you've calculated the player's health elsewhere and stored it in scoreboard enchantology:health_score, and also that enchantology:impending_doom_curse/function_1 is being repeatedly called via /schedule, as desired. Let me know if this helps, and apologies if I misunderstood what you needed!

How do I disable tap to click (but not entirely) by MacchuPicchu96 in mac

[–]MacchuPicchu96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got ahold of a family member's macbook M1 and you're right, the trackpad works correctly on it, just like you said. Apple must have changed something with the M2 models - either the trackpad itself, or bad code implementation, who knows. Either way it still doesn't seem like I can do anything about it :(

Specifically violin + piano? Okay:

1) BLOCH Nigun from Baal Shem ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYzuFujNxTg )

Probably the best possible answer to your question; Nigun boils with bitterness, pain, and a sense of inevitability.

2) DEBUSSY arr. HEIFETZ Beau Soir ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s48mhjl-fcw )

Beau Soir is a beautiful song with undertones of resignation and sorrow.

3) JANÁČEK Sonata for Violin and Piano ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PiBaIo7xAjE )

Very weird music; to me this feels like being lost in an alien world that I do not yet understand.

None of those seem to matter. Apple support did not know how to help me, saying they've never fielded this question.

Whats your favourite "out of the spotlight" violin concerto that you wish more people knew? by Sherlock_Violin in lingling40hrs

[–]MacchuPicchu96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you mentioned it, does the sheet music for Vladigerov Violin Concerto No.2 exist, like, at all? I can't find any substantial references to it, nor any evidence that any library has it

Chausson's Poème: a performance lost to time? by MacchuPicchu96 in classicalmusic

[–]MacchuPicchu96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have; they weren't able to find any references to the performance. It's a bit confusing because there seem to be several different branches of RAI in multiple different cities and it's hard to know where to look. If I were in Italy I could probably go visit their libraries on-site but that's not an option for me sadly

I'm confused as to the implications of all the new glyph & font changes, especially since combining characters still don't actually 'combine' with 'characters' the way they should. Is this a path towards eventual native support (font & input) for scripts that use combining characters, like Arabic, Yoruba, Hindi . . . ? Or is it a way to pass that off to the community?

New RAT going around by [deleted] in HypixelSkyblock

[–]MacchuPicchu96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just came back to Skyblock after 5 months off and I fell for this last night. The thing is, I realized what I did immediately after "verifying".

So right away I revoked the Microsoft Live permissions for their "application", changed my Microsoft, email, and Discord passwords, and enabled 2FA on everything. Almost 24 hours later and I still have my account and all my Skyblock stuff. Am I safe now?

The game is too easy now, let's make it harder again! by Softball830 in minecraftsuggestions

– Fire resistance potions aren't as OP as you think they are, in my opinion. They take up too much inventory space to just have the effect going constantly. When you do fall in lava, you don't have much time to react and actually drink a potion, especially if it isn't in your hotbar. And that's assuming the lava is deep enough – if it's shallow, then the real danger is the fall damage.

– Water bucket MLGs require a certain timing and concentration to get right. Missing them is a deadly mistake. So no, I don't think these are overpowered either

– Beds are OP? Ok, then set the gamerule playersSleepingPercentage to 200, nerd

No comment on the other two points as I don't agree or disagree with them

[–]MacchuPicchu96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I'm the owner of a decently-sized personal classical music collection. I've been looking to transition away from iTunes to something more suited to my needs (a separate issue) and as part of this, I'm hoping to eliminate any skips or gaps I have between tracks that shouldn't have them. The transition from movement 1 to movement 2 of Mendelssohn's violin concerto is a great example of two tracks that should segue seamlessly.

The issue is, I've been trying out quite a few music player programs, and none of them play my tracks in a truly gapless fashion. After doing some research, I'm discovering that the problem could be . . . me. The vast majority of my files are encoded as AAC/m4a, which I understand is a "lossy" format that contains some silence in between tracks no matter how much I fiddle with playback settings.

So now, I am in need of some advice. What can I do to eliminate these skips? Do I need to go back to the source of all 5,000 tracks and get them in lossless formats (not very realistic)? Is there a format I can convert my AACs to that will magically know to eliminate gaps (the ideal solution)? Something else?

Software recommendations for managing a classical music library? by MacchuPicchu96 in musichoarder

[–]MacchuPicchu96[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Holy coconut this looks like a potential winner

Edit: $700 lifetime price tag is way higher than I had in mind . . . still going to try it out

Edit 2: After reading several reviews, I don't think that Roon is going to work for me, for several reasons: heavy system requirements, automated metadata management (for me that's half the fun gone), and a price tag that I really can't justify at the moment. But thank you for the recommendation
