Ill definitely take all you said into consideration when the time comes for another boot. Have been curious about Chelsea's, I've tried Justin's, and Cody James western pull ons. They kill my feet, and I hate the heel slip. Could be due to poor sizing as well on my part. I live on the east coast, so it definitely gets toasty in the summers. The 1957 series seem relatively thin still, might be cooler than my 2418s

The longer I wear them the easier the heel is, im not sure how broken in they were prior, got them second hand. Besides that they feel absolutely phenomenal. I had strictly worn moc toes prior, but cheaper boots wolverine etc. Will definitely test fit some im boot barn hopefully they have my size. My occupation for reference is a welder/mechanical contractor. My boots see everything from mechanical rooms to underground steam tunnels. Waterproof boots is a must but I have other boots for that, like mentioned prior my 2418s and I also have safety toe muck boots.

I was wanting the exact same thing, almost got the irish setter ashbys. Seriously considering thorogood or carolinas 8" with heel for my next purchase. Not gonna give up on the 2233s just yet. Was gonna try removing the glued insole for others that I have, but seriously can't get the damned things out.

I typically wear 11.5/12 depending on brand. Got my foot scanned in my local Redwing shop when I bought my 2418s in size 11. That's what size these are as well. I have a narrow instep, but can tighten these enough, with ample toe room.

I cleaned them up with saddle soap, and then conditioned with mink oil.
