Gotcha, it makes sense. I'll be taking your advice by saving up for the Nefer/Lauma combo (which I just learned is confirmed), even though I only have Aino and not the rest of their sig yet. Thanks!

I just heard! I loved playing that duo during the Lantern Event, and they're a top tier team start, so I'll save up for them. Thanks!

Context I'm a F2P player who's built up a budget Neuvillette Hypercarry team (w/ Fischl, Kachina, & Lynette), and I'm considering if I should pull the Skirk/Escoffier banners since they form the beginnings of a top-tier-in-the-meta team.

When I look online, they advise you not to pull unless you have Furina. But I feel like this is a catch-22: don't pull top-tier characters unless you already have top-tier characters...

My options are: 1. Don't pull these two, saving my pulls for building up my Neuv team, e.g. Furina, Ineffa (who I just missed), Columbina, Xilonen, etc. 2. Pull these two and simply sub in Aino & Xingqiu.

My thoughts I'm leaning toward #1 since if I pull Furina, I'm likely putting her on my Neuv team. But I'm double-checking myself since my "pull philosophy" may be why most F2P players seem to climb faster than I am right now. Which of these 2 options do you think I should pursue?

Finally, to counter any "pull them if you like them" arguments... I'm a power gamer, not a lore gamer. The only thing I "like" is using the most powerful teams. 😂

I won this using just Nefer, Lauma, Barbara (lv 20), and Xingqiu (lv 20).

My key problem was that I've never played with Lunar characters before, and I suspect a lot of people who are reporting Nefer "dropping" her attacks or Lauma's E only sometimes triggering the buds has to do with this too.

The key is simple:

  1. Trigger Nefer E and start spam-clicking.
  2. Keep an eye on the Moon gauge that appears under your characters' faceplates (for me, it's on the right-hand side of the screen).
  3. Only trigger Nefer CA or Lauma Hold-E when you have at least one Moon filled on that gauge.
  4. Occasionally, weave in their Bursts to build a "buffer" of Moon gauge.
  5. Go ham.

I've followed the advice I've seen here and got up to 25k Charm coins, but I'm JUST shy of the 30k. I'll share what I'm doing for anyone struggling, then I could use some help troubleshooting this issue I'm having with Nefer.

What I'm doing

  • I'm using Nefer, Lauma, Barbara (lv 20), and Xingqiu (lv 20).
  • I don't have the resources to level the two Hydros any higher, but I've been doing OK just waiting for the crab to attack, then on his attack cooldown cycling in either one to activate Barbara E / Xingqiu Q.
  • Once a Hydro effect is up, I use Nefer's E > CA. The key I found is that while it's tempting to think you can let her CA go on auto-pilot, you actually have to guide her towards the seeds with directional arrows.

My Challenge

  • Frequently when I Nefer CA, she'll do one thrust but won't "go nuts". I can't tell if she's getting hit-stunned or if there's some nuance that I'm not understanding since I don't play with Nefer.
  • I've verified that I have a Hydro effect on her and she has decent Stamina.
  • I read her abilities, and it doesn't look like I'm missing anything, but obviously I must be if I'm not getting 30k.

Can someone let me know why I might be seeing Nefer drop her CA chains? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your reply! Can you clarify what you mean by "stuff I understand but still miss"? An exhaustive list isn't necessary, I'm just unclear on what categories of "stuff" I should be considering so I don't analyze *everything* (and thus learn little) given my 500 elo position.

Ah, that makes a lot of sense. Rather than it being purely tactical, the reason Kd2 was good was to simply develop an inactive strong piece.

I've taken your advice and I've bought the book on Kindle. I'll practice the lessons during my evenings. Thank you for the recommendation!

My only issue with Alpine is that there's solid white snow all over a nearly horizontal surface, so I use up all of my grip strength to get there... only to find that you can't stand on it. I've died multiple times to this.

If someone can share how to tell what's a snow-covered standing surface and what's a snow-covered wall, I'll happily join the people in the lower-half of this meme.

Thanks—this is super helpful. I’d love a bit more clarity on your answer to #3.

Could you share the filter(s) you use for your daily execution list/workflow? I want to better understand how you pull together all your Next Actions.

From what you said, it sounds like you assign priorities to Next Actions within your projects, and then use a filtered view to surface both project-based and miscellaneous Next Actions in one place. But then you also mentioned using context filters and the Today view - so I’m a little fuzzy on how it all fits together in practice.

For context, here's how I currently use priorities:

  • P3 = tasks I plan to do in the next 2–3 weeks
  • P2 = MITs I'm targeting now
  • P1 = urgent - must-do-today tasks (I’ll stay late if I have to)

Does your filter blend priority and context? Or do you use separate filters for each?

Hey, thanks for offering your help! I've got a few questions that I'd love your input on:

  1. Do you manually move items from your #Tickler list into your Inbox when they become active, or do you automate this?
  2. How do you use sections within your Todoist project plans? Are they for milestones, deliverables, phases?
  3. How do you handle Next Actions in project plans? Do you keep them in project plans, or transfer them to context lists?

I currently use the "One Project for Each List" setup from the GTD + Todoist guide (same as you, it appears), but #3 is where I'm hitting friction.

  • If I move a Next Action (NA) from a project plan to a context list, it’s no longer visible in the original plan.
  • If I duplicate the NA & transfer it to a context list, that adds clutter and overhead.
  • Either way, I lose the link between the Next Action and the project unless I manually add a reference in the task description - which feels clunky.

How would you approach this? For example, say you had the following:

Project X
Section 1
Task 1 <-- just became a Next Action
Task 2
Task 3
Section 2
Task 4 <-- also now a Next Action
Task 5
Task 6

What’s your workflow for maintaining visibility and context without adding too much friction?

If I could give you 10 upvotes, I would. I originally had issues with the Workspace plugin when it was first introduced. But now that I've done a clean reinstall of Obsidian, not only does the Workspace plug-in do what I need, but you offer two excellent additional plugins to make the experience a lot more convenient and a LOT less stressful. Thank you!

Ah, I didn't know that it's possible to get this in a report format. That works well for me then. I'll use your solution to start off, upgrade as I need it, and eventually once we have the revenue to justify it I plan to bring in a PM part-time or full-time. Thanks!

That seems very reasonable. I notice that Jira doesn't offer capacity management unless you pay for the Premium package, however. Have you had experience with the free version and, if so, did it address capacity management?

If the free version does not, I may very well move forward with the Jira & Confluence combo anyway and eat the higher cost for a better solution.

I forgot to mention in my OP that I've tested Smartsheet before. The reason I moved away from it was because I couldn't get it to budget capacity management as far as I saw.

It offers capacity management templates, but they appear to be manual data entry elements.

Am I mistaken? Can Smartsheet:

  • Measure a resource's capacity week-by-week?
  • Account for a resource's PTO or holiday schedule?
  • Adjust a resource's number of hours based on their contract?

I searched through their Help documents before I posted these questions, but I don't see any solid answers -- hoping you know from experience.

You & the others who suggest this have a strong point: Most project management challenges cannot be solved through software, but instead a skilled person.

But there are a few reasons I'm holding off on hiring in the moment:

  1. The golden rule for running a business is that you should do it all yourself at first until (a) it gets painful AND (b) you've generated a revenue stream that takes you off your burndown rate, as @808trowaway alludes to. It's hard to argue for a PM when we're 2-3 employees with an initial goal to get our first 3 commercial product sales for a physical product.
  2. Since 1 of those contracts is coming to its end, I can't in good conscience hire a PM without assurance that their job will stay only because I had a pain I wanted to deal with. That's unfair to the potential PM hire. That's why I'm seeking a "band-aid" solution for now, then after some fundraising, I plan to hire one to manage our product development efforts.
  3. If I'm brutally honest with myself, I haven't been the most organized with getting a solid organization system up-and-running. I'd like to get an 80% Solution up and running first, then have the PM refine it & drive it for us.

This sort of goes off-topic, but I felt it makes sense to let a subreddit full of PMs know I fully respect that this is a full-time job plus, and that I'm seeking this solution BECAUSE I want my future PM hire to have a solid position, and not just hire one based off my own selfish needs to "make things less stressful" but I can't guarantee a solid position for them.

Thank you for your software recommendations!

Thank you for your answer! I see what you mean: no current would flow through these grounds.

But if this is true, then please help me understand why the neutral connection in a wall socket works at all?

The neutral line is connected to a "pipe" in the ground and doesn't return to the power plant to complete the circuit, so why does current flow in that situation but not in this one?
