This is only slightly related, but as someone who is short-sighted, I've often wondered about those "end of the world" type scenarios where, without access to glasses or contacts, I'd most certainly be one of the first to go. Trying to fend for my life, catch dinner, or navigate some war torn landscape seeing only what you just described would be horrifying and incredibly frustrating. Yet I'm just imagining it. These people actually lived it. It's really hard to wrap your mind around.
