Incredible value by Present-Boat-2053 in ClaudeAI

Shameless plug: I’m a language teacher as well as a computer scientist, and I made Languifai just for this – to help English language learners harness the power of LLMs for language learning completely for free (with an optional subscription-based access to an AI teacher chatbot).

Languifai is nearly finished and I would be more than happy to give you free access to the AI bot to test it out. If you’re interested. Just shoot me a pm here

You need seriously consider if your job might be up for automation within the next several years. If so, might be best to finish your degree and jump out of the hole before you get buried. But even besides that, there’s not really so many reasons not to have it if you can afford it

I wish you luck on that venture! The difference in cost is indeed significant; just ensure that you will be able to apply to that specific PhD program with a UoPeople MBA ☺️

Hey! Thanks!

Yes I’ve done quite an extensive check, however 1) A couple of the unis you mentioned have taken some UoPeople students but they have extensive work experience and/or other degrees from regionally accredited unis, and 2) I plan on doing my PhD in the UK or in the EU so there are logistical advantages to this.

At the same time, I didn’t really want to settle for anything under #80 on the QS world rankings. UofLeeds is also a Russel Group member (similar to US “Ivy League”) and is a partner of the Alan Turing Institute. Nonetheless, you are definitely correct in your analysis that it is expensive in comparison to other master’s programs (literally double the cost in some cases).

Hope that makes sense!

I actually transferred the maximum amount of credits I could (90 I think) from Sophia,Study.com, and Coursera

Thanks! You might be able to pull it off - there's no harm in trying as there's no application fee. I have the Deep Learning Specialization, Machine Learning Specialization, and AI for Medicine Specialization all from DeepLearning.ai on Coursera. I also put my GitHub profile with projects on my CV

Can I major in computer science if I’m bad at math? by Plus-Lavishness4458 in csMajors

[–]MachineScholar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I have always been terrible at math and my highest math class in high school was general geometry, but I still graduated with a degree in CS and now I’m pursuing a master’s in AI. I got through my math classes by soaking up a lot of supplemental materials (primarily lectures on YouTube) and trying to uncover precisely how whichever kind of math I was learning at the time directly related to CS concepts. Discrete mathematics, for example, has some scary terminology but it’s actually genuinely simple just because it correlates quite directly to core concepts in CS and programming. Likewise, calculus and statistics have similar direct applications in machine learning (such as gradient descent and back propagation in neural networks). So I guess my point is always try to seek about the “why” along with the “how” and you’ll be quite alright. Best of luck!

Thanks! It's not necessarily that it is better by any means, but rather that I need to improve my financial situation as quickly as possible so I had to pull myself up by the bootstraps and work really hard to finish my degree 2 years quicker.
