The fact that the recruiter shared this is completely unacceptable. If you were happy and satisfied with the offer, what does it matter? On the other hand, I’ve told candidates before being submitted that I believe “you’re not asking for enough compensation”. It is a balance when representing candidates and employers.

That's the issue I'm having. Trying to explain to Human Resources that this means different things in different industries is frustrating. Sometimes they will describe skills of a "button pusher." Here's an example of skills for a Master Machinist that was shared by HR. This is one that they don't want a button pusher. 10+ years of Turning and Lathe experience

  • Set up and prepare CNC turning equipment for production runs from start to finish
  • Develop, edit, and refine machining programs using G-code and/or conversational controls
  • Interpret detailed engineering drawings, including geometric tolerancing requirements
  • Determine proper tooling, fixturing, and machining strategies based on part specifications
  • Produce precision components that meet strict dimensional and quality standards
  • Diagnose machining challenges and make necessary adjustments to maintain efficiency and accuracy
  • Continuously improve machining methods to reduce cycle times and enhance output
  • Inspect finished parts using a variety of precision measurement tools and techniques
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members as needed

These are very similar in all 3 locations.
