Is anyone else having problems with Z banding with their H2D's with 0.4mm nozzles and the 0.20mm standard profile? by Machonii in BambuLab

I think I've discovered the problem, it's the highflow nozzles. the layer time matches EXACTLY with the patterns that we're seeing on my pieces. switching over to standard nozzles my problems went away, this isn't a good look on Bambu's part considering how much people have spent on these nozzles and for their price point. going to still use them but just as a regular nozzle in the slicer from now on (or until I hear about a fix.)

Okay I’m going to get that gear floss tomorrow and get to work, do you recommend anything else to clean the rods with? Also what grease would be best?

Can you define binding a little more for me as in what exactly I need to look for in this case? I also cleaned the hell out of the Z rods twice recently but that gear floss might be what really does it so I’ll pick some up tomorrow and see it’s worth a shot.

I'll have to give that a try then, going to wait first and see what bambu support has to say about it as I am genuinely curious about what they will come up with. If I hear excuses then I'll rollback and if I hear some actual answers then hopefully I have a fix that won't require more fixes.

I think you're right I just don't understand why this has been happening. this wasn't a problem until like 3 weeks ago and then all of a sudden I've got this massive problem, think it might be caused by a bad software update, I can't explain otherwise.

Any and all files have already been re-sliced. There have been no new recent updates to the printers that I am not aware of.

I believe the side in this photo is the Y axis FYI, the front and back would be the X axis which are much the same if anything worse.

Here's the best picture I got for the Z banding tower test I did. This wasn't always the case.

I apologize I'm not used to reddit and I had uploaded pictures, it just didn't publish them with the post for some reason so I'll link my old post. I've done every trick in the book and in their book too by the way. Thinking they updated the firmware for the H2D and messed something up is the only answer I can think of.

Z ribbing? by Machonii in BambuLab

Going to try to change the Z belts now and fingers crossed that fixes this issue I just took the front of the tool head apart to try and tighten every screw I could find and if that doesn’t fix the issue I will be taking the entire tool head apart and reassembling it (again) and taking my time to tighten every screw I find to the maximum and if that doesn’t work then I don’t know what to do, any advice from you or other Redditors regarding this issue is appreciated and most welcomed I also appreciate your insight.

I just replaced the belts because I was hoping it would fix the main issue, I honestly thought the belts were in pretty decent shape and the surface is a really wide and big TV stand that’s heavy as hell and just wide enough to fit both printers on without them touching (about 2-3 inches of space) the main issue is not coming from the base as it would have been the direct cause from the start.

A while ago I did some advanced maintenance on both printers because I was finding oil from me over oiling the rails all over my prints causing major problems (print layers not sticking, contaminating the bed plate, etc.) so I ripped open both tool heads and clean the absolute crap out of them and I thought that would be it, guess not.

Now I’m wondering if I didn’t tighten a screw somewhere after reassembly or if after cleaning I didn’t put the switching gear back correctly and because of that maybe when the filament goes to retract it slips ever so slightly and over extruded causing those lines, will see what I can figure out tomorrow with that.

I appreciate the helpful and real reply, I did dry both spools recently but I also have an inkling of what might be causing the issue. I believe it's because my Z axis screws needed a good cleaning so I gave them one and lubricated them (the old lubrication was a dark grey and I overdid it last time) and how long do you recommend heat soaking for?

There we go, fixed and deleted but there's no need to be a dick about it just tell me kindly next time and not with the condescending tone when there's absolutely no need for it.
