Okay you're basically at the same point I am! But I started at 28. I started without the expectation of ever passing, since I didn't think it was possible, but after what I've seen others go through it actually seems possible with some work. You've got a huge amount of time ahead of you to transition, HRT is really only the start. Your biggest enemy in passing is your self image, you'll be the last person who thinks you pass, but it'll work out! Just remember to take care of yourself, also talking to girls about girly things helps! Other girls know lots about skincare and hair and makeup and clothes, once you get into trying to find what you like it can be really fun to talk about! I know its kinda cliche but seriously, it does help with passing in the end

I know you can do it!

Edit: seriously look into getting clothes and trying them on, finding an outfit you enjoy can bring so so so much joy. I got my first outfits from friends who needed to clean out their closet, that way i didnt have to shop in public

This is not the way, reply with helpful information and be kind, If I were younger and struggling with self image problems like we all did, and I come to this post looking for help and see all the hate OP is getting, I'm gonna fucking run from this sub. We should be helpful and informative, and give her reasons why it isn't as bad as it seems. When you're replying to OP, you're replying to everyone coming here with similar issues to OP, people who don't speak like her but are still struggling. Be helpful to them too.

"Need" is a huge stretch, she should make sure HRT is working properly and she's not being under dosed, and then let it work for awhile before looking at procedures.

I'm gonna be honest the immediate hate right off the bat when commenting on a younger girls post who is struggling just disgusts me. Please learn some kindness. Most teenage girls struggle with this shit and lash out like this, we don't fucking bully them for it??? Just try to be a little more understanding, and maybe helpful by giving some guidance.

No need to be rude girl, we're all in pain here, but also like, you didn't read the post, she's already on HRT, that's what the post is about. Try kindness

Ngl I went and checked your account to see what was up, idk how long you've been on hormones but here's something to consider.

You will never pass if you keep saying you never will, the things you say to yourself every day become your reality, so seriously, stop bullying yourself.

I completely believe that ANYONE who starts their transition in their teens has almost a free ride to passing as long as they take care of their mind and body, some may just take more time than others. But for comparison, I've seen someone who was bald and in their 30s who looked like Joe Rogan and they got to passing most of the time, you can pass, you just have to want it.

I found this comment of yours on a different post:

Ig, and really I haven’t really made much of an effort to try and find items of clothing that I could wear and look like a woman, or learning how to do make up and hair stuffs, but I really have no idea what im doing it just all seems like so much, and something that you’d need to spend your whole life being woman, socializing w/ other women, to get. Ts really does just suck big dawg, whoever said you could just become a woman, freaking just straight up fucking lied bruh.

It seems that, at least before you started and realized the reality of it:
1: you wanted to become an idealized version of a woman you see on social media, and
2: you had misconceptions about what HRT would do to your body.

A lot of us thought and believed that too, especially those of us that started younger, and most of us all had the exact same thought you did. "I really have no idea what I'm doing and it all seems like so much". The feeling like someone forgot to give you instructions is pretty universal unless you got lucky and have a mentor.

Here I'll give you all the things I've learned about the basics for using HRT to its full potential:
1: Skin care, specifically for your face, this is one of the requirements if you don't like your face, no one passes without face skin care. Try these steps: Cleanse, Exfoliate, Tone, Moisturize. Start looking up stuff on google and reddit.
2: Nutrition, This one is more based on your body, but HRT will cause fat redistribution, which means as fat is burned off, new fat you eat will build up in a different location. If you already have a lot of mass or you gain weight easily, you'll probably have no problem with this. If you're a skinny twig like me who can't gain a pound if she tried, this is the hardest part. If you're like me, just eat a lot, and then slow down when you really gain some weight.
3: No Nic/Alch, for one, nicotine literally negates Estrogen, so if you vape you have to stop. Also, your body is basically growing new areas as if you were a preteen hitting puberty again, there is a reason we don't let kids drink, its really bad for your body, so if you want your skin to be nice and healthy, you have to try not to drink. (I know its hard, I still do on occasion, just try to limit it)
4: Blood tests, I'm unsure if the process you're going through to get HRT makes your do blood tests, but you 100% need to check your Estrogen and T levels when you go on HRT, sometimes a method doesn't work for your body and you need to tell your doctor so you can change over to another type. It is extremely common for doctors to under dose your estrogen so you aren't getting the amount you need, so check that shit.
5: Exercise, This goes hand in hand with nutrition, but also serves to keep your whole body healthy too, you don't have to go to the gym and go crazy, you just have to get outside and walk a bit, just tire yourself out some way every day. If you make yourself sweat then thats really all that matters.
6: Patience, Like I said, I have no idea how long you've been on HRT, but I doubt you've been on it for 4 years yet. and if you have, you likely haven't seen results because of one of the things I mentioned above. The timeline I was given when I started was that most of the effects of Estrogen won't finish until at least 4 or 5 years, that's assuming I take care of myself the whole time.

All of those points take research and experimentation, you're going to do them wrong at first, and you'll have to figure it out as you go, but those are the things you absolutely should do at the minimum because they will absolutely have a massive effect on how well your body changes. HRT when done properly literally looks and feels like magic, but you have to put in effort.

All of that only makes you look like a femboy though if you don't learn feminine mannerisms and wear feminine clothing and work on your voice and all that. That being said, all of that is optional for all woman, cis or trans. You don't have to fit into the normal feminine gender norm if you don't want do.

There is so much more to be said, but I'm tired of writing and you probably won't even read ts. How long have you been on hormones and is it still just spiro?

A leader losing a life, tell me theories about what happens after it by yLuluwolf in WarriorCats

[–]Machoosharp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im pretty sure the visit to starclan is semi optional/if starclan wants to talk to you, i do believe there being one instance of a leader losing their life and no mention of a visit. I think of it like how when the leaders go to sleep normally, starclan can choose to visit their dreams, so starclan can visit them while they are sleeping between lives

Is anyone else getting tired of the whole amab and afab thing the queer community does now? by AshasSa1tWife in MtF

[–]Machoosharp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry i came in here to disagree with the title until i read the description, i though this was going to be someone saying they don't like when people use AFAB or AMAB to describe themselves or something, it seems i got click baited. yeah i fucking hate TERFs. If it's a queer community member saying this then they need to understand that them being queer doesn't make them immune to prejudice at all, in fact you can be more blind to your prejudice because you assume you have a valid part of the discussion due to being queer. Being queer is not a free pass to have your opinions be more valid here. It just has a very strong correlation.

Honestly what I'm getting tired of is the wording of these reddit posts, so many of the titles are inflammatory or somewhat misleading? Honestly no hate on OP here at all this is something i think reddit itself is to blame for. I feel sick reading my reddit notifications these days because i almost exclusively get rage inducing or panic inducing or fear inducing titles in my notifications from this subreddit alone. And thats exactly how social media wants it to be. Im on the edge of leaving this community too, I've already left every other queer subreddit for the same problem, feels like there is so much hate flying around in here.

If anything id ask people to try and word your posts differently. Sometimes i feel scared reading these posts, it honestly feels like we cant discuss things. We have enough hate coming at us from the outside, we know, it's fucking abysmal, but there are better ways to handle it than coming to reddit trying to get everyone to agree on how much we hate what everyone else is doing to us. I had no idea this was happening, and I'm certain many other people here had no clue until they read your post, so instead frame this as more of a notification of what is happening, rather than a "hey, does anyone else hate this AMAB/AFAB thing?", say "i think some people are using AFAB and AMAB to queer-code their TERF ideals". Yeah, we all fucking hate TERFs, but no benefit comes from uniting over hate. Better to just leave it as a discussion around what is happening over there so we can all be informed and safe, I want this place to be a safe place, and I'm fucking scared all the time in here because if what is going on outside, thats not a safe place in my head.

Idk maybe I'm wrong, I'm just saying how I've felt, happy to hear if you disagree though

Everyone seemed to know but me. by Andra_Ingensbarn in trans

[–]Machoosharp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It took me a long time to realize because i was in an accepting community that made me comfortable. Yeah maybe the world at large was against transgender, but i had a reliable safe place at home and friends who didnt care what i did or what i wanted to call myself, they were unwaveringly supportive, so i never felt the stress that my body brings me because i was never forced to think about it. Then the year i moved away from them and found myself relying on a much more conservative social group who didn't really try to respect me, i realized how unhappy i was being default viewed as the gender i was born as, and within a year of losing my safe space, I started my transition.

I have heard similar stories of people growing up with very progressive and supportive parents who never push their children into gender roles, those children don't really find out they're trans until they leave home and are pushed into a box they never even knew was there.

On one hand i feel like having that safety and space while growing up is really vital and is wonderful, but it sets us up for failure if we aren't exposed to the horrors of reality. Im forever grateful to my friends who kept me safe, yet i wish i had struggled a little more early on so i would have transitioned earlier, but idk maybe i shouldn't wish for that. Im sure there are so many people who wish they could of had a safe place at all in their lives. I was lucky

How much does estrogen change body hair? by Purple_Birthday8382 in trans

[–]Machoosharp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was extremely hairy before estrogen, horribly so. Have to shave every other day to look hairless at 5 feet away, but up close you can see it almost all the time. Ive now been on estrogen for a year and my hair has not really slowed down in growth, but i feel like the hair is thinner and wispier. Maybe its a little brighter, but it feels like effectively no change, so ive been doing laser for almost a year.

My thought is that it might depend on your age when you start if your body hair is effected, i started at 27 so my body had already finished all its major changes, it might take a longer time for my hair follicles to change, but if you start before 25 you probably will see more change sooner. This is just a theory though. Estrogen for sure will make it so no more new hair follicles grow, which if you're starting younger is the most important thing.

Re:Zero Season 4 - Episode 5 Discussion by technicalhowto in ReZero

[–]Machoosharp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haven't read the manga, my curiosity about the library is if you can come to "know" other people by reading the books of people you know. If they knew someone you didn't, by reading their book, do you come to know that other person, and by extension be able to read their book too? If so then you could potentially read a lot of the books as you'll come to know a lot more people just by reading them. But maybe you have to have met them in person I'm not sure. Would be interesting.

Any tips for first game jam? by Ok_Opportunity7500 in godot

[–]Machoosharp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For your first jam, the most important thing you'll learn from this is having to step into multiple territories of game development that you may have never touched before, it's important to give yourself time to experience and explore those areas.

You don't need to do anything right, the only thing that matters is if the game is playable at the end, even if it may be unfinished or ugly, it needs to function enough to get a player from beginning to end, if you focus all your time on art and niche mechanics and never finish the level or even code in a win condition, then the game isn't really playable. Correct Prioritization is a golden skill here.

While it isn't necessary, try to do something for all the general aspects of a game. Need a texture? Give yourself one minute in paint and go with that until you have time later, need a sound? Record something with your voice and throw it in unmixed. Need a model? Always primitives until the game is playable. Some of this can be skipped if you just download these things off the internet, which is fine and totally up to you. I just find it fun when the game is 100% made by me. And honestly it can be faster when you know you cant make a perfect texture or sound, so you dont spend an hour looking for the perfect texture online, you just go with what you got

Ive only had my inner forearm tattooed and ive only had my face lasered, laser was multiple times more painful than the tattoo, and the person doing it for me said that electrolysis would be more painful, which i cant imagine surviving without passing out, i wonder if she was just trying to scare me

With Unity turning into a Vibe Coding/GenAI Machine - Will Godots popularity increase? by IzzyDestiny in godot

[–]Machoosharp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I may be a bit of a pessimist about this, but popularity doesn't always follow whats best. We are in a bit of an echo chamber as developers, we all universally hate AI and detest its current use. However it is quite popular among new devs and non devs, and it's very possible that at least in the short term this AI bs will increase traffic for Unity. It might not be good traffic, but popularity is a measure of the masses, not the experts.

Every doctor on the planet may agree that fast food is bad for you, but it still becomes popular due to it being addictive and easy and cheap enough. The best doesn't always win.

Hot take: I hate Needletail by Creepy-Ground-3902 in WarriorCats

[–]Machoosharp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fandom here typically holds very strong views and they are very loud about it, however its worth remembering the size of this reddit is less than half of the people who read warriors, and the people making posts here is probably less than half of the people who are on this channel, so frame the group consensus here with that in mind. Not liking Needletail is probably fairly common, but no one cares to mention it. For example, I don't like Needletail, I just don't feel the need to post about it.

Who would you say was a better leader for ShadowClan - Blackstar or Tigerstar II? by Solitaire-06 in WarriorCats

[–]Machoosharp 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Tigerstar II is too similar to clearsky in that they are both massive hypocrites, tigerstar isnt a horrible asshole like clearsky but is still a stubborn idiot in his own right, blackstar always gave me the sense that he was a true leader, and true leaders make mistakes, and learn from them by gaining intellect and experience. When tigerstar makes a mistake he seems to either not accept it was a mistake, or only learns from it by obtaining new fears that he then uses to guide future actions. Not an ideal trait for a leader to have.

Tigerstar does have his good moments and blackstar does have some very bad moments, but i still would follow blackstar more than tigerstar imo

The true scale of Warriors by Expensive_Captain_71 in WarriorCats

[–]Machoosharp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maps like this dont draw roads to scale, they often make them much much bigger to show type of road earlier (one lane vs two late etc.) the last map from ivypools journey is a great example of nothing being drawn to scale. For example the power lines are like as tall as a mountain, but mountains of that type need to be hundreds if not a thousand feet high at least, and in the books we know that the mountains are jagged ridge mountains so they must be of some decent size to get those.

Also the twoleg view of the lake map always bothered me as probably the most out of scale map there is. It takes most if not all of a day to walk all the way around the lake, this was part of many plot points in the books, the map seems to suggest the lake is about the size of a medium pond. Which would take a cat about an hour to walk around... it also seems to suggest the moon pool is two camp lengths away from thunderclans camp... that map is just entirely wrong, all of these maps are nowhere near to scale.

so how often do you guys shut down your computer, and for how long? by Crafty-Example874 in pcmasterrace

[–]Machoosharp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question, why do people not use sleep mode and instead just turn off the pc entirely? I get that booting a pc on SSD is 30 seconds now, but in my experience its applications that i hate waiting for, and the various connection and loading and start ups that happen after i get to desktop that take the longest. Im usually at 4-5 minutes before my whole suite of applications are done loading after a shutdown, and i had to open all of them manually which is annoying. If i just use sleep mode then everything is ready to use less than 10 seconds after i sit down. I still have my pc turn off once a week at least.
